A study was made of the permeation and diffusion of H (table 10) by monitoring the rate of H permeation through a liquid Al bath using manometric measurements. The diffusion coefficients were calculated from the time lag which was required in order to attain a steady state diffusion. At temperatures of between 943 and 1258K, the results could be summarised by:
P (cm2/s atm½) = 3.86 exp[-23.9(kcal/g-atom)/RT]
D (cm2/s) = 2.34 exp[-15.0(kcal/g-atom)/RT]
