The permeation of D in various alloys (table 119) was studied by using the gas-phase breakthrough technique at temperatures of between 100 and 500C, and pressures of between 10Pa and 100kPa. It was found that Monel K-500 was more than 5 times more permeable than Ni at room temperature. The other alloys had permeabilities which were less than that of Ni, and these decreased in the order: Inconel 625, Inconel 7l8, Inconel 750. The occurrence of D-trapping within the alloys appeared to affect the bulk diffusivity values (table 120).
