The diffusion of Bi along various [001] symmetrical tilt boundaries in bi-crystals was measured as a function of the misorientation. It was found that the diffusivity on a boundary was closely related to the energy of that boundary. That is, a lower-energy boundary was associated with a lower diffusivity.
