It was shown that layer-by-layer measurements of the electron-transfer activation energy in polycrystalline ferrites permitted a simple experimental study to be made of the depth distribution profiles of the O which was introduced from the atmosphere during sintering or heat-treatment. Analytical equations which were proposed here made it possible to determine the bulk and grain-boundary O diffusion coefficients, while using a minimal number of adjustable parameters.
