A radioactive tracer and sectioning technique was used to study impurity diffusion, and the isotope effect for 6Li and 7Li diffusion, in single crystals. The data, for 200 to 400C, could be described by:

D (cm2/s) = 1.0 x 101 exp[-1.04(eV)/kT]

The best linear fit to the solute diffusion data ([348] to [365]) yields:

Mn: Ln[Do] = 0.87E – 22.7 (R2 = 0.99)
