Synthesis and Properties of Mechanically Alloyed and Nanocrystalline Materials
The present publication provides a state of the art view of the ongoing research in the field of metastable and nanocrystalline materials. The latest developments are discussed in order to advance the reader's understanding of the fundamental properties of these classes of materials, with a view to new technological applications.
As one would expect of an international forum for materials scientists working on various aspects of metastable and nanoscale materials, the topics covered are remarkably interdisciplinary, and include: theory, materials preparation and processing, structural characterization, thermodynamics and physical and chemical properties (magnetic, electrical, optical, mechanical, catalytic, ...). Particular attention is devoted to synthesis and processing, especially mechanical alloying and mechano-chemistry, and to the correlation between processing, parameters and physical properties.
