Reliability Analysis on Friction-Pressurized Drilling Rod of Rotary Drilling Rig

For the reliability problems of drilling rod of rotary drilling rig that need to be resolved currently, the paper took the friction-pressurized drilling rod for example, firstly analysised the failure modes of drilling rod with the joint method of FTA-FMECA; then established the structural reliability model of drilling rod according to the dominant failure modes respectively, and solved the failure probability; finally, made recommendations of reliability improvement. In the paper, the calculation of failure probability was done with Monte-Carlo simulation method, and the accurate solution was obtained with Matlab program.
