Professional certification and education quality The professional certification of higher education is a process to recognize colleges and universities in offering professional quality standards that meet the eligibility criteria pre-established.
This sets up a bridge between the higher education and requirements for professionals from the industry.
Moreover, such professionals are subject to the constraints of the "STCW international conventions promulgated by the International Maritime Organization, and a variety of other industry standards stipulated by the Maritime Bureau of Ministry of Communications of the People’s Republic of China, which is in accordance with international requirements of the Convention and combined with China's real conditions. 2.2 Maritime Education management system and existing problems 1) From the aspect of professional evaluation, education authorities build up a generally applicable professional evaluation system matching the characteristics of education.
However, in view of the special nature of the professional maritime, this kind of general evaluation system can not meet the requirements of the industry. 2) From the aspect of professional building, there are different requirements from education authorities and authorities in charge of the industry in terms of the basic education conditions such as the faculty, practice or experimental facilities, quality management system,etc.. 3) From the aspect of investment in personnel training, in order to meet the needs of some special training equipment, i.e., training vessel, simulators required by the International Convention and other water training facilities, much more funds are needed to develop the professional maritime education than general engineering professional education. 2.3 Impact on maritime education from implementation of vocational qualifications access IMO (International Maritime Organization) is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for the Safety of

Based on all the information, data generated, and graphs made available, it was developed a form, shown in Table 1, that was filled out by 3 (three) professionals from the technical area, duly identified with their respective institutions and with master's degrees in Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, and Biological Sciences, respectively.
These professionals, who have more than six years of experience in water treatment in Water Treatment Plants (WTP), understood the data clearly.
In the third question, two professionals recognized the importance of having turbidity forecasts throughout the year and how this can influence managers' decision-making, while the third pointed out that the predicted values are below what is generally obtained in the WTP.
When analyzing the answers to the fourth question, we observed that the professionals addressed different aspects of the graph: The first analyzed the turbidity peaks, attributing precipitation as the main cause of the increase; the second highlighted the peaks over the years and their influence on managers' decision-making; and the third noticed the trend in the forecast for the next 12 months, indicating how this can also help in decision-making by the administrators of the Santa Bárbara Dam.
Conclusions The main objective of this study was to develop a robust and reliable model to validate turbidity as a crucial indicator of the quality of water treated at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), aiming to provide data and graphics to guide future water management strategies by administrators.Table 1: Form with questions asked to professionals who treat water at WTP 1 Do you work with management and water treatment?

Water pollution control engineering is one of the main courses of Environmental Engineering specialty.
In order to develop the technical skills and professional qualities of students in this area, the innovative mode of practice teaching was explored while the curriculum and practice teaching systems were constructed.
Water pollution control engineering is mainly responsible for the water environment protection and pollution management of great specialty and practicality which imposes a higher request of practical ability for the students. [1] Therefore, it is imperative to strengthen the practical and innovative abilities during the water pollution control engineering course.
At the same time, the students could operate the machine by themselves which promoted their professional application skills to combine the achieved specialty knowledge with actual production process and helped them develop the comprehensive abilities of analyzing and solving a practical problem.
Meanwhile, based on the classroom learning and on-campus practice, to undergo off-campus actual production could improve various qualities of students, such as professional dedication, sense of responsibility, cooperation, independent working ability, team spirit, risk tolerance and so on.
