Different materials have been studied for the manufacture of BPPs, ranging from graphite and graphite-based composites to metallic materials.
Graphite materials are used to manufacture BPP, but they shows difficulties in machining, leading to higher costs.
There are metallic materials as aluminum or stainless steel, which also presents another problems such as higher surface corrosion or membrane poisoning, so there is not a key material which is clearly the best option [6].
This equipment is employed in research activities for the development of standard and novel metallic materials.
