Abstract: Standardization is the activity of normalizing norms and rules which are in general obligatory for products, services and methods of measurement, control and testing. One of the main demands to the methods of analysis is to ensure a certain level of accuracy. Requirements for the analysis sequence and the accuracy of the measurement data are the result of a compromise between the consumer and the supplier of the analysis. It is suggested to use functional-target analysis in order to determine the relations between the properties and functions of the object. On the example of X-ray fluorescence analysis it is shown that it is possible to formulate the functions of the researched object and analyze the properties which are necessary to put these functions into practice. It allows for determining such indicators of the analytical method that can be assessed quantitatively. Such approach can be used to construct mathematical models to estimate the degree of accuracy required for solving specific problems of consumers of precise measurement information.

Abstract: One of the requirements of the modern materials market is the stable balance between the manufacturer and customer interests. However in order to improve the competitive edge the manufacturer should be able to adapt well to the changing market conditions. This feature is especially important when the manufacturer only starts producing the products with improved consumer properties. The article is concerned with the concept of real-time technological adjustment of quality ratings to external impact and the development of the new combined method of carbon wire plastic deformation resulting in improving its mechanical properties is given as an example. The proposed concept is based on the principle of complex technological systems generation on the basis of precedent selection as well as on the application of vertical and horizontal adaptation. The authors show the results of complex theoretical and experimental investigation of various technological operations influence of the developed method on formation of the wire mechanical characteristics.

Abstract: Because basic metal forming methods have reached the maximum of their manufacturing capabilities in deformation-velocity processing modes so called combined or integrated processing methods move to the forefront. The method of combined deformation processing based on drawing with bending and torsion deformation was developed. On the example of carbon steel wire it was shown that microstructure and mechanical properties can vary in a wide range depending on the process regimes. In order to estimate the probability of carbon steel wire fracture at the designed combined deformation processing the simulation complex DEFORM-3D was used. The results demonstrate that there are no areas with high concentrations of hydrostatic pressure and overestimated values Cockcroft-Latham criterion. For the developed combined deformation processing of wire by drawing with alternating bending and torsion, algorithm for the prediction of carbon steel wire microstructure and mechanical properties changing at combined deformation processing was carried out. The developed methodological approach to forecasting of formation of the structure and mechanical properties during combined deformation processing of carbon steel can be used to solve both direct and inverse problems.

Abstract: It is shown that new methods of severe plastic deformation design require combining different methods of plastic deformation. As for carbon steel wire, using drawing as a basic operation is obvious. The combination of drawing with bending and twisting was estimated by the stress-strain uniformity complex. It allows choosing the deformation processing conditions which ensure the uniform stress-strain state in each point of the carbon steel wire cross section. Based on such combination, a new method for manufacturing of semi-products with ultra fine grain structure by drawing with torsion was developed. The combination of wire drawing in two consecutively arranged dies with simultaneous bending and torsion allows achieving complex stress-strain state of the processed metal and ensure the share stresses. Metallographic investigation shows that such scheme of combined plastic deformation provides the uniformity of metal microstructure in its cross section.

Abstract: It is proposed to set the structure of metal products quality as a hierarchical tree of properties. Input and output variables and also control parameters of technological processes are represented as universal multitudes in formalization of the process of production quality indices handling in hardware industry technologies. Presence of simultaneously diversified information initiating different types of independence, is characteristic of solving problems of metal products quality indices control.

Abstract: Powder rolling is used for manufacturing long-length strip. For obtaining the product with high green density it is necessary to ensure shear strain in the deformation zone. Based on the principles of technologic adaptation the dual roll closed caliber with adaptively changed rigidity was constructed. It consists of upper bandage with shoulder, bottom bandage with groove in which the set of three rings (two aside and one central) is located. The pass is arranged by aside rings and outside surface of the central ring forming closed caliber while interacting with the shoulder of the upper bandage. The caliber output is equal to zero and the broadening at rolling is fully excluded. Such construction of the tool makes it possible to achieve high level of hydrostatic stress of tensor simultaneously with intensification of shear strains resulting in practically nonporous rolled strip. Taking into consideration peculiarities of calibre rolling the new criterion was proposed. This criterion enables to characterize roll system for each material, incompact materials in particular, considering retraction ability, to assess and identify the final square of the rolled material at different caliber configuration. Dependence of maximum value of powdered rolled strip thickness on dual roll closed caliber retraction surface value at different rolled strip width is presented.

Abstract: In order to design new progressive technological processes for metal ware production it is necessary to use unconventional methods. It is proposed to use the main aspects of TRIZ methodology to devise the new method of carbon steel wire processing. It is suggested to combine different operations of carbon steel wire production. It allows to achieve the different combination of strength and ductile properties of carbon steel wire with one diameter and carbon content. Metallographic investigations showed that microstructure of carbon steel wire after combined deformation is uniform and can be classified as ultra fine grain one. It is proved that TRIZ methodology makes it quicker the development of new methods of metal ware production which are very perspective from the market demands.

Abstract: This paper contains main principles of function-oriented analysis. This approach may be used to estimate the product quality from the point of view of its consumer properties. The object and its components are studied in terms of the functions they fulfill, which corresponds to the degree of satisfaction of the customer requirements (or expectations). It makes possible to find out the relation between the consumer functions and the product properties and determines the practical ways of quality improvement. It is proved that the function-oriented analysis can be used efficiently for both current metal products and for research and design of up-to-date engineering and manufacturing systems.

Abstract: At present time tendencies in the development of engineering and technologies in the manufacturing the metal ware need the effective complex impact on material microstructure by methods of different nature. Special attention should be paid to the combined processes of deformational treatment which are constructed on such basic operations as drawing, rolling, pressing, etc. Despite a plenty of studies and high efficiency of combined methods the problem of understanding the scientific grounds for choice the processing parameters which ensure the guaranteed level and high stability of metals and alloys properties has not been solved jet. Medium carbon steel is used for a wide range of metal ware products. Medium carbon steel wire with 0.5 %C was chosen for the experiments. It was subjected to different kinds of deformational processing such as tensile deformation, alternating bending, twisting and their combination. Complex of experimental research was carried out in order to study the influence of different kinds of plastic deformation on the medium carbon steel wire microstructure. By scanning electron-microscope analysis the peculiarities of pearlite behavior after deformational processing with different total deformation degree were studied. The comparative analysis of cementite changing after different kinds of deformation was conducted.

Abstract: It is proposed to study technological processes of metal ware production as a consequence of macroscopic, microscopic and submicroscopic building typical for an initiate structure, transformed by phases or structurally. It makes possible to use the technological heredity theory in order to predict product quality. This approach is shown on the example of continuous method of deformational nanostructuring. It allowed to formulate the basics of the assessment strategy of various multistage processes of material processing in terms of achieving the required set of properties.
