Abstract: Collaborative manufacturing is gaining more and more popularity in the dynamic and global market environment, as raises the requirement of a platform to support the remote resource utilization and distributed process integration for the operation and management of collaborative manufacturing. This paper combines agent and grid workflow technology to construct an integrated application service platform for collaborative manufacturing of discrete part. The grid service is used to encapsulate technological resources to be accessible remotely, while the agent technology is integrated with grid service to encapsulate resources such as machine tools which require local human operation. Grid workflow is applied to model and enact the overall manufacturing process and invoke appropriate grid services dynamically so that manufacturing tasks can be executed in a controlled and distributed manner. Issues of system framework, resource encapsulation and process enactment are discussed, and a case study is present to demonstrate the feasibility.

Abstract: The reconfigurability of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) means that it can adapt to different manufacturing environment and application requirements rapidly and easily. A Reconfigurable MES Model (RMM) is discussed with a hierarchical architecture including Production Object Level, Business Activity Level, Business Function Level and Organization Level. The elements of each level are defined, and the implementation mechanisms of reconfigurations are analyzed in detail. Finally, an example is presented to prove the validation of RMM.

Abstract: According to requirement of cooperative manufacturing partner selection based on networked manufacturing environment, the paper resolves cooperative manufacturing partner selection problem by ant colony algorithm and grey relation theory: Firstly, manufacturing task is divided into series of working procedure in time order by technologic planning. Secondly, considerable candidate enterprises are selected in terms of multi-hierarchy grey relation coefficient at each working procedure node to reduce the size of problem. Lastly, cooperative enterprise selecting path is decided by making use of ant colony algorithm in light of transportation cost.

Abstract: A mosaic method of based on rotational scan sequence cylindrical barcode which is suitable for metal parts is put forward, which combined the hardware and the software. Firstly, extract the feature points of each serial image based on scale-interaction of Marr wavelets. Then, get the optimal match of feature points with improved image local entropy. Lastly, complete the natural splice of the defect 2D bar code images through the algorithm of three interpolation and multi-resolution spline. The experimental results show that the algorithm could extract the feature points of consistent relative position and quantity after the processes of rotation, brightness, blur and nose, at the same time, assure the splicing efficiency and measurement precision of image mosaic. The method can also better finish the defect bar code recovery caused by curvature deformation.

Abstract: In order to solve the problem of bar code failure because of inadequate protection, pollution and other factors in the process of production, presented a new multi-information fusion technology used of residual bar code information, shape, texture and the weight information to identify the tool information in the database and recovery the tool identification. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has better performance in accuracy, robustness and efficiency, can fully satisfy the actual requirement in production.

Abstract: Agent technology is widely employed to construct dynamic, distributed collaborative manufacturing systems in which the individual participating agents contribute to execute different part of the whole manufacturing job, and the final goal is achieved through cooperation. However, the cooperation among agents is based on message exchange, and the system requires additional process control and management mechanism to ensure the operation according to a pre-defined process model. This paper defines the collaborative manufacturing job and related information in domain knowledge model, and applies knowledge based expert system to build software agents for process scheduling and management. The system architecture, components and the implementation methods are discussed. A prototype system is constructed on the basis of JADE agent framework and Jess rule engine and demonstrated with an industry product as a case study.

Abstract: To enable rapid response to the needs of MES reconfiguration, we introduce a component -based MES reconfiguration approach based on PIM. In this approach we get feature values by extending PIM, and use them to query reusable components that are needed to perform MES reconfiguration. By this means we can ensure system flexibility, on the other hand ensure the quality of the reconstructed system from the abstraction level of models.

Abstract: In order to improve the corrosion resistance of Data Matrix (DM) code laser marked on aluminum alloy, the salt spray corrosion resistance was determined. First, the corrosion resistance of DM code laser marked by 3 different processing modes was investigated. Meanwhile, the SEM images and EDS data for modules and substrate of DM code are analyzed, which explains the differences of corrosion resistance for DM code by the 3 processing modes. A kind of laser combined electrochemical marking method for anti-corrosion DM Code mark was put forward, where a bare mark of DM code was created by direct laser marking in advance, and then a uniform, compact and protective oxide film was deposited on the bare mark by electrochemical oxidation to form the corrosion resistant mark. The results show that the corrosion resistance of laser direct marking DM code for different processing modes exist some difference. However, all the DM code samples become failure after at most 15.5 hours salt spray corrosion. The DM Code mark by the proposed method can withstand approximately 42 hours of salt spray corrosion, whose corrosion resistance improved 2-3 times.
