Abstract: The essence of the multidisciplinary collaborative design problem (MCDP) is the coordination of the design variables among multiple disciplines on the basis of the all constraints of all disciplines. There exist some problems such as the early detection of design conflicts and the determination of the consistency domains of the design variables, etc. The resolving of these problems can help designers avoid bad decision-making, reduce the design iteration and improve the design efficiency. Aiming at the problems, this paper proposes a constraint-net model to describe and manage all the design variables and constrains of all disciplines, discusses the reformulating method of the MCDP to improve computation efficiency, and develops the interval propagation algorithm to determine the consistency domains of the design variables, etc. A gear drive is taken as an example to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract: A new product modeling method for product multidisciplinary collaborative design (MCD) is put forward. The method uses a flexible product model which can be extended transversely and lengthwise by multiple levels’ inheritance and new attribute classes’ addition and a class inheritance mechanism under network environment which allows each discipline to build own view model of a product. An open and flexible system architecture supporting the product MCD effectively is put forward, and prototype system implementation is introduced.

Abstract: Considering the characteristics of dynamic alliance task scheduling, timed place Petri-net (TPPN)-based approach is proposed to model the task scheduling. On the basis of formal definition and transition rules of the TPPN, dynamic alliance manufacturing types are classified, and the TPPN model of each kind of manufacturing is provided. Then through analyzing time difference of each task, critical path in TPPN model is solved. Finally, State flow is used to simulate the TPPN model, and the simulation of a case demonstrates that the approach is feasible and effective.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of product model characteristics of multidisciplinary collaborative design (MCD), multiple views model expressed by an extended object-oriented method is introduced to satisfy the requirements of different discipline designers for product information interaction and share. A product modeling system for multidisciplinary collaborative design is proposed, and the modeling method of discipline view model under the network environment is given, which can effectively support the evolution of product model and improve the flexibility of product modeling. The clutch is illustrated to validate the proposed methods.

Abstract: Partner selection process is a major issue in the formation of a virtual enterprise. This paper analyzes the partner selection process of a virtual enterprise and provides its model based on Petri net. The model describes the dynamic behaviors such as concurrent, asynchronism among the factors in partner selection process. In addition, paper analyzes the liveness of the process model by means of the reachability tree.

Abstract: The security of BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) based manufacturing service workflow management system is researched in this paper, in order to achieve the efficient and secure integration and sharing of dispersed and heterogeneous design/manufacturing resources, and to realize the reuse of the complex distributed Design/Manufacturing process models. By integrating the secure BPEL engine, proxy credential server and authentication trust level, the security framework of the BPEL based manufacturing service workflow management system is built up, and the security mechanism of integrating BPEL and WSRF (Web Service Resource Framework) is analyzed. In addition, the system implementation technologies are analyzed and a distributed injection mould Design/Manufacturing application scenario is described. The research results provide the basis for developing a secure BPEL based distributed Design/Manufacturing prototype system.
