Abstract: The FoxO3 belongs to the O subclass of the forkhead family. FoxO3 is a tumour suppressor, a master regulator and suppressor of primordial follicle activation. We predicted FoxO3 cDNA sequence of Gallus gallus by in silico cloning, and analyzed its coding protein by bioinformatics methods. Results showed that the FoxO3 cDNA encoded a protein with 486 amino acid residues. The predicted FoxO3 protein with a Forkhead domain was not a secretory protein, and was located in the nucleus. The FoxO3 protein had highly homology with that of other species. This study might provide a basis for future studies on the FoxO3 gene of Gallus gallus and functions of its encoded protein.

Abstract: With the completion of the HapMap project, largescale, high-density single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers and information on haplotype structure and frequencies become available. Although meta-analysis could combine the data by placing markers on a common genetic map and performing linkage analysis on the whole sample jointly, how to adjust the map distance of those markers with no crossover data sets in available databases is still an important problem. In this paper, back-propagation artificial neural network was be used to combine the linkage mapping. The results showed composite genetic map can be got after adjusted the small sample map distance curve with a criteria curve, a large sample size curve or a map got from meta-analysis, and the composite genetic map with more precise and dense markers could also be got using an appropriate networks trained with crossover marker data. The small genetic maps could also be spliced by using an appropriate networks trained with crossover marker data, the network structure with different hidden neurons was also very important for splicing the genetic maps from different literatures. The meta-analysis combining appropriate networks trained with crossover marker data was a good selection for composite mapping.

Abstract: Numerous studies reported that mixtures of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) could produce quite sensational growth-promoting effects in all categories of farm animals; but many people thought that REEs could affect human healthy. Therefore, experiments were done to understand the effects of La2O3 on red-eared sliders. The results showed that lower dose of La2O3 could probably improve the metabolism of Red-eared Slide turtle, and the higher dose of La2O3 could probably cause pathologic reaction. Lanthanum trichloride (La) could cause the Histological changes in tortoise livers. A very lower dosage of La2O3 could damage the livers of red-eared slides obviously though diversity pathway. The wild animal should be protected from harm in the RE diggings. If the RE is used or must be used as an additives in animal foods, an appropriate dose of RE was necessary, and the safety evaluation should be done.

Abstract: Recently, largescale, high-density single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker information has become available. However, the simple relation was not enough for describing the relation between markers and genotype value, and the genetic diversity should be carefully monitored as genomic selection for quantitative traits as a routine technology for animal genetic improvement. In this paper, back-propagation neural network is used to simulate and predict the genotype values, and the different gene effects were used to discuss the influences on estimating the polygenic genotype value. The results showed that after phenotype value being normalized, optimization network could be established for predicting the phenotype value without fearing that the gene effect is too large. If the number of hidden neurons is large enough, the stability of back-propagation artificial neural network established for predicting phenotype value is very well. the gene effect could not affected the precise of optimum neural network for estimating the animal phenotype, the optimum neural network could be selected for predicting the phenotype values of quantitative traits controlled by genes with small or large effects.

Abstract: Vast amount of bioinformation immerged in the past, HapMap Project had genotyped more than 3.1 million Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) information by 2007, a prediction equation based on SNPs was derived to calculate genomic breeding values. However, the simple mathematical function could not reflect the complex relation between genome and phenotypes. Unlike the methods of regression, artificial neural networks could perform well for optimization in complex non-linear systems; artificial neural networks have not been used to calculate genomic breeding values. In this paper, back-propagation neural network is used to simulate and predict the genomic breeding values or polygenic genotype value, and the different numbers of gene loci and hidden neurons were used to discuss the influence of the learning rate on estimating the polygenic genotype value. The result showed normalization was very important for training prediction model. After phenotype value normalized, optimum neural network for estimating the animal phenotype could be established without considering the gene number, but the optimum neural network should be selected from amount of neuronal networks with different hidden neuron number. No matter what the gene number is, as well as the number of hidden neurons is right, BP networks could be used to predict the animal phenotypes.

Abstract: Ion beam bio-engineering was established by Chinese researcher in 1980s. Over thirty years past, there were delightful progress by low energy ion beam induced mutants and crop improvement. When ion beam implant the organism, charge exchanged between ions and organism surfaces. Meanwhile there were ion sputtering, ion penetration and surface damage of plant cell wall material. Owing to etching action of low energy beam to plant cell wall, ion beam mediated exogenous DNA transformation becomes possible. Representative applications and achievements in crop breeding were described.

Abstract: NMR was used to investigate the chemical shift graphs of fresh pork at different time postmortem, and at the same time the ice crystals of meat freezing at different time postmortem were researched with SEM. The results showed there were significant (P<0.05)correlation between distribution and size of ice crytals freezing at different time postmortem and the chemical shift graphs of fresh pork at different time postmortem different. Using chemical shift graphs of meat could forecast whether the meat was suitable for frozen processing, and also could forecast the water holding capacity of it.
