Abstract: The article is devoted to the development of technical solutions centering the axis of rotation of the rotor of the electric motor during movement. Focuses on the problem of optimization of the axis of rotation of an electric machine rotor. The existing types of current unbalances of rotating part of electric machine and their causes are considered. It is specified that the methods used in practice balancing, do not meet the requirements of modern high-precision industries. A new solution to the problem of stabilization of the axial position of the rotating electric machine is suggested.

Abstract: A bandwidth limiting neutron chopper is an important device in neutron scattering facilities. It contains a rotor assembly running precisely under control to cut a neutron beam into designed pulses. There are a number of requirements for the rotor assembly to function rightly. The work described in this paper is on design and developing of the rotor assembly. Main content includes structure consideration, numerical calculation of the rotating part stress, test of resin composite adhesion, dynamic balancing process, as well as system operation result. A prototype of rotor assembly was made and operated at the speed of 3000 rpm, which satisfied the requirements.

Abstract: The manufacturers nowadays are forced to respond very quickly to changes in the market conditions. To adopt flexible mixed model assembly lines (MMAL) is a preferred way for manufacturers to improve competitiveness. Managing a mixed model assembly line involves two problems: assigning assembly tasks to stations (balancing problem) and determining the sequence of products at each station (sequencing problem). In order to solve both balancing and sequencing problem in MMAL simultaneously, an integrated mathematical model based on mixed integer programming (MIP) is developed to describe the problem. In the model, general type precedence relations and task duplications are considered. Due to the NP-hardness of the balancing and sequencing problem of MMAL, GA is designed to search the optimal solution. The efficiency of the GA is demonstrated by a case study.

Abstract: In order to manufacture optical components or mechanical parts with high surface roughness requirements, diamond machining is used. To achieve the desired surface quality, the understanding of the surface generation process and its influencing parameters is important. Here, the crucial parameter is the residual unbalance of the main spindle. As the residual un-balance affects the process and vice versa, the investigation of the process-machine interaction is necessary. In this paper we present a model describing this interaction between dynamical unbalances that occur during the machining process and the engine-shaft structure at the example of an ultra-precision turning lathe. This model allows the determination of the achievable surface quality of a workpiece for a given balancing state. On the other hand we will present a mathematical method to solve the corresponding inverse problem of computing the necessary residual balancing state and balancing weights for a given desired or given measured surface quality.

Abstract: The static balancing of the weight forces of any mechanical system which is not working in horizontal plane is considered in order to decrease the acting power. From practical point of view two main ways of balancing could be taken into consideration: by mass redistribution of components and/or by adding counterweights, and by elastic forces of the springs or of the gases. The first solution is not always possible due to the clearance diagram of mechanical systems and due to increasing of the dynamic stresses of components. Second solution is more and more used to various mechanical systems and many constructive solutions were proposed in last time. The complexity of balancing systems with springs comes from the need of using zero-free length springs. In any case the mathematical model has not a unique solution. Present paper is continuing a former paper of author and is presenting a method to find the optimum solution of the simplest elastic system which is using a real spring. Design variables are the position of spring’s joints, as well as the constructional parameters of a real spring.

Abstract: For a large number of uncertainties such as suppliers, customer demand and different external uncertainties, as well as workers, machines, environment and other internal uncertainties, they affects the mixed-model assembly line balancing. And these uncertainties can be turned into the changes of demand, operation time and workstation availability, which are relevant to mixed-model assembly line balancing. By solving the three factors influence on the balancing, these uncertainties influence is processed. This paper provides a way to process uncertainties influence on the mixed-model assembly line balancing.

Abstract: A new method of shaking moment balancing of force balanced linkages is presented in this paper. The shaking moment balancing is gained based on the angular momentum principle. The method of synthesizing a dyad to balance the shaking moments is given, two kinds of structure types are calculated, all the maximum absolute values of the shaking moments are decreased by more than 75 % and the f1uctuation values of those are reduced by more than 68 %.

Abstract: Simple genetic algorithm has shortcomings of poor local search ability and premature convergence. To overcome these disadvantages, simulated annealing algorithm which has good local search ability was combined with genetic algorithm to form simulated annealing genetic algorithm. The tests by two commonly used test functions of Shaffer’s F6 and Rosenbrock show that simulated annealing genetic algorithm outperforms the simple genetic algorithm both in convergence rate and convergence quality. Finally, the simulated annealing genetic algorithm was firstly applied in a practical problem of balancing and sequencing design of mixed-model assembly line, once again, the solution results show that simulated annealing genetic algorithm outperforms the simple genetic algorithm. Meanwhile, it provides a new algorithm for solving the design problem of mixed-model assembly line.

Abstract: In this paper an energy-efficient management routing algorithm is presented. We provide a new idea and some solutions to balance the energy-efficient and QoS. Within the scope of QoS requirements, the routers consider energy-efficient and QoS at the same time, and choose a minimum energy consumption path. The proposed routing algorithm is then implemented with OpenFlow, which is an expandable, customizable, controllable and programmable experimental platform. The result indicates that proposed algorithm works well, and can balances between energy-efficient and QoS.

Abstract: Tool logistics is expected for economic and just-in-time production, whereas expensive machine tools require instantly available supplies of the right cutting tools. In this context demand for high tool availability is a need to reduce non-productive times by shortening tool`s set-up times. A solution of the tool logistics depends on a level of automation and integration of manufacturing systems. The article presents current state of the tool logistics system established on the intelligent technologies. It applies general solutions in tool logistics system in the Centre of Excellence of 5-axis Machining at Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava. There are described some important processes and equipments for their implementation.
