Abstract: In order to study the influence of charge weight and blast position on damage effect of EPW (Earth Penetrating Weapon), theoretic analysis was combined with experiment data, the model of volume of funnel pit formed by blast was set up based on supposing that the warhead was instantaneous spherical explosion and the fragments’ destructive effect could be neglected, then the model was discussed in detail. The results are helpful to the launch and control of the EPW and have reference value for the building of contravallation and underground blindage.

Abstract: The paper presents a generic design study for a 2500 square meter, 4-storey embassy building. It is designed to resist blast loads from an assumed Design Basis Threat (DBT) that is provided by the owner. The building structure consists of reinforced concrete columns, beams and slabs supported on pile foundations. The exterior walls are concrete block with stone veneer. The windows are double glazed with aluminum frames. The building is situated within a compound with a perimeter wall. There is no basement.

Abstract: In order to explore earth penetrator’s effective destruction to the runway, using numerical simulation as the main means, and combined with some experimental data, a study on the intrinsic connection between series of charge weight, different depth of the burst point and damage area of the runway (blasting crater area) is carried out. The results shows that: for the same charge weight of earth penetrator, there is an optimum depth of the burst point (best penetration detonation depth), and the law which is got from numerical simulation is consistent with the experimental one, which indicates that the material model and calculation parameters of numerical simulation are reasonable, the numerical simulation can replace some research experiment and accelerate research progress.
