Abstract: Dry-type transformer is a high electric strength, high mechanical strength and high heat intensity transformer. With the acceleration of our city and countryside grid construction and the energy saving requirement in power industry, the application of dry-type transformer is expanding. Also, society proposes a higher standard in dry-type transformer. To improve its working capacity and reduce power loss further, we need to analyses its inner working conditions. This thesis uses finite element software ANSYS to build a model of dry-type transformer and gets its power loss and temperature distribution under different working capacity. After comparing this simulation results with experimental results, the accuracy of simulation method is proved. This simulation provides a structure optimization method of dry-type transformer. It can reduce design cycle and cost, help to spread the application of dry-type transformer.

Abstract: An accurate mathematic model of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is necessary for precise torque control and/or high efficiency drive control. This paper discusses the development model of PMSM by taking all losses and saturation into account. In the proposed model, all losses composing of the copper loss, core loss, mechanical loss and stray loss were analyzed to improve the torque equation. In addition, considering the influence of saturation level, the variations of the core loss resistance, direct-quadrature axis magnetic inductance and permanent magnet flux were discussed on support of the data analyzed by Ansoft. In order to verify the developed model, a start up simulation is performed in the mode of open-loop and the results confirm the validity of the model.

Abstract: A possibility to reduce core loss in non-oriented (NO) electrical steel by applying magnetic coating has been investigated. This technique involves electroless plating of magnetic coating onto the surface of electrical steel. The material system was NiCoP coatings with different thicknesses (1, 5, and 10 􀁐m) deposited onto the surface of commercially available Fe-3%Si NO electrical steel. Characterization of deposited NiCoP coating was carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectrometer. The deposited Ni-Co-P coatings were amorphous/nanocrystalline and composed of 56-59% Ni, 32-35% Co and 8-10% P by mass. Effect of coatings on core loss of the electrical steel was determined using a single sheet test. A core loss reduction was achieved with the NiCoP coating with a thickness of 1 􀁐m magnetized at a magnetic flux density of 0.3T.

Abstract: This paper described the performance of transformer affected by different limb assembling. The experiment that used to investigate core is no-load, short circuit and load test to find the core loss, copper loss, flux leakage at corner joint and limb and total harmonic distortion of the flux at flux density range from 0.2 T to 1.6 T, 50 Hz. From the result of this investigation shows the core loss of transformer assembled with 2 limbs is 18.45% and 32.21% better than the transformer assembled with 3 and 5 limbs respectively at a flux density of 1.6T, 50 Hz. To increase the numbers of core limb assemble will reduce the efficiency of transformer.

Abstract: Core loss of soft magnetic powder cores have been focused on to achieve high efficiency of power supplies. In this study the effects of crystal grain size on core loss were investigated by changing heat treatment conditions. It was found that core loss is influenced by crystal grain size because eddy current loss decreased and hysteresis loss increased by making crystal grain size smaller, and it is also influenced by the frequency and particle size.

Abstract: A novel brushless compound-structure permanent-magnet synchronous machine (CS-PMSM) based on the magnetic field modulation principle is proposed for hybrid electric vehicles. As the key part of the brushless CS-PMSM, the operation principle of the electromagnetic planetary-gear machine (EPGM) is investigated by analytical method. The magnetic-field distribution and torque performance of the EPGM are studied by finite-element method (FEM). To obtain the optimal design scheme, the influence of the span ratio and thickness of the magnetic block and the slot-opening on the electromagnetic performance is investigated. Finally, the core loss distribution of the EPGM is investigated and the performance of this machine is fully evaluated.
