Abstract: A reasonable and effective control strategy for HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) with HESS (Hybrid Energy Storage System) can improve the system efficiency and battery service life. A dynamic programming-based global optimal control strategy which fully considered the efficiency of each component in HEV is presented. To compare with the nonlinear proportion factor dynamic coordination strategy, the fuel consumption is not increased. The cycle numbers of battery are further decreased which benefits its cycle life improvement. The regenerative energy callback ratio improves 3% under the shanghai drive cycle as an example. Since this optimization algorithm considers efficiency of each subsystem, the efficiency optimum under the selected driving cycle was realized. It can also provide a reference for the non-linear scaling factor allocation strategies to determine the scale factors.

Abstract: This paper is to review the research trend of Hybrid Electronic Vehicle (HEV) and present a novel design of a HEV based on programmable logic controller (PLC).Since a hybrid vehicle can be at one of five status: Pure Electric Drive, Pure Engine Drive, Parallel Drive, Engine Drive and Electric Power Generation, and Brake for Energy Feedback, this paper presents a design of a HEV controlled by PLC which is to optimize the energy flow according to the vehicle status and the AC permanent magnet synchronous motor. This research is based on anovel design on the transmission system including dual-clutch, transmission control box and planet-gear structure. Switching between the five statuses is automatically controlled by a PLC using the information from the transducers.

Abstract: The article introduces HCCI technical characteristics, existing technical problems and characteristics of the hybrid electric vehicles, analyzes application feasibility and advantages of HCCI technology for hybrid electric vehicles and proposes that HCCI technology is an effective solution for the hybrid electric vehicles in increasing economy of internal-combustion engine oil and reducing emissions and further can realize batch production of products.

Abstract: In this study, an environmental comparison of hybrid, fuel cell and gasoline passenger vehicles is performed with the application of life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. Unlike in a classic LCA, the vehicle cycle and fuel cycle of vehicles have both been modeled to cover vehicles with the full life time.According to the assumptions, the total energy consumption of the hybrid and fuel cell vehicles are respectively 27% and 37% lower than that of the gasoline vehicle. The GHG emission of the hybrid and fuel cell vehicles are respectively 27% and 44% lower than that of the gasoline vehicle. The results of the study show that the FCV is the one that presents the lower LCA energy consumption and GHG emission compared with the HEV.

Abstract: The bond graph method is used to analyse and model dynamics of hybrid electric system based on Ravigneaux Planetary Mechanism. Bond graph models are built in different structural form, general equations of torque and speed are derived, and operating modes achieved in different structural form are in consideration. At the same time, requirements of control system in different operating modes are illustrated and analysed, which help lay the foundations for modeling and simulation of HEV system based on Ravigneaux Planetary Mechanism.

Abstract: In order to study the influence of environment which the hybrid electric vehicle made, used the simulation software advisor to the prevailing two hybrid cars: Toyota and Honda Prius snd insight engine, motor and battery of the matching calculation. And made a comparison with conventional cars. Compared to traditional cars ,the hybrid cars have obvious advantages in environmental protection.

Abstract: An new control strategy for interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) which is the most popular motor used in HEV is proposed and investigated, which features is increasing the reference flux weakening voltage to improve efficiency in flux weakening region . Modeling results show that the proposed strategy can achieve the same dynamic and steady state torque performance with higher reference flux weakening voltage, which means higher efficiency.

Abstract: This paper puts forward 3 new coordination control states based on the analysis of the control logic of pure hydraulic ABS during braking .In order to reduce the regenerative brake force, we make the logic conversion according to the present coordination control method and the hydraulic brake force can compensate the regenerative brake force. The simulation results show that the 3 states proposed in this paper combine the present coordination control method and optimize the coordination control of the regenerative brake force and the hydraulic brake force under the anti-lock braking condition.

Abstract: An unscented Kalman filter (UKF) is adopted to estimate the state of charge (SoC) of a lithium ion battery for application in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). Generally, the extended Kalman filter (EKF) can be selected to estimate a non-linear system state. However, it may leads to large errors since the strong non-linear and stochastic performance. In this paper, the performance of the lithium-ion battery is tested by a design of experiment, such as hysteresis, polarization, coulomb efficiency, etc. And a combined battery model is selected for SoC estimation, while the model parameter was identified by using UKF algorithm. Finally, the federal urban driving schedule (FUDS) is used to evaluate the proposed method accuracy. And the results show that the maximum SoC estimation error is less than 3%.

Abstract: This paper briefly presents a Parallel Serial Hybrid Electric Vehicle structure combined with NAC institute, constructing a CAN Communication Network of Hybrid Electric Vehicle’s Powertrain and also defining the Communication protocol of the control Network. The Network constructed is tested on bench and prototype vehicle and by using CANstress, CANoe and some other Automotive network development tools, actual test and performance analysis have been conducted. The experiment result illustrates that the control network system arrives a high stable performance and real-time with low bus load and little error frames under high transmission speed and interference environment, and can meet requirement of HEV Powertrain of stability, real-time and accurate control. Besides that, we also constructs a Diagnostic Network, which fulfills the unified diagnostic services (UDS) defined by ISO14229.
