Abstract: In engineering practice, there is an increasing application of ram-compacted pile composite foundation for its economical and environmental consideration. In order to forward settlement property research of ram-compacted pile applied in high-speed railway deep soft ground treatment for the first time, and based on ram-compacted pile settlement data of trunk embankment near Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway Langfang station, this paper starts from 3D FEM analysis and provides the study on ram-compacted pile settlement characteristics. What more, settlement prediction using 3D FEM analysis is proved to be applicable and effective.

Abstract: Huge investment in high-speed railway construction, whether its own operations economically rational, and how to develop a scientific and reasonable amount of high-speed rail ticket distribution scheme has become an important part of the high-speed rail operations optimization theory and applications. This paper gives a comprehensive consideration of economic and public services about the optimization model in order to maximize the expected revenue for the high-speed rail trains single objective function. Then proposed a heuristic column generation algorithm, compared to traditional linear programming methods, to a large extent reduce the number of iterations and computation time. Finally, we generate a random distribution of data to verify the algorithm can efficiently solve large-scale seat inventory control problems.

Abstract: The study constructs a stop schedule model for high-speed railway. A greedy-based algorithm is proposed and the problem is divided into 3 stages to decrease its difficulty to an acceptable extent. Some greedy principles are applied and series of optimal models are constructed to solve the problem. The result of the sample shows that the models and algorithms in the study are effective.

Abstract: The application of high-speed railway data, which is an important component of China's transportation science data sharing, has embodied the typical characteristics of data-intensive computing. A reasonable and effective data placement strategy is needed to deploy and execute data-intensive applications in the cloud computing environment. Study results of current data placement approaches have been analyzed and compared in this paper. Combining the semi-definite programming algorithm with the dynamic interval mapping algorithm, a hierarchical structure data placement strategy is proposed. The semi-definite programming algorithm is suitable for the placement of files with various replications, ensuring that different replications of a file are placed on different storage devices. And the dynamic interval mapping algorithm could guarantee better self-adaptability of the data storage system. It has been proved both by theoretical analysis and experiment demonstration that a hierarchical data placement strategy could guarantee the self-adaptability, data reliability and high-speed data access for large-scale networks.

Abstract: A new measuring method of track irregularity for high-speed railway is proposed by using dual-frequency laser interference technique. The linear deviation between the phase-locked gauging head and the center line of the railway route can be calculated by comparing the phase difference variation of the laser beat signal in the test ray path and the reference ray path when the portable track inspection car is moving forward along the track. While we use laser ranging technique to measure gauge, after processing data, the static irregularity of track will be acquired by changing straightness deviation of phase-locked gauging head into straightness deviation of left-right two tracks. The method is different from the existing techniques for detecting high-speed railway irregularity, such as the inertial reference method, the measuring method of chord and the method of laser alignment; it utilized the accuracy of the time to accomplish the high-precision measurement of the space and achieved innovation in theory.

Abstract: Traditional methods of wheel-rail contact forces measurement all need strain gauges on wheel sets or rails. The shortcomings of strain gauges such as zero-drift, poor anti-interference property and instability of test system can’t meat wheel/rail force test requirements in high-speed railways. A method based on PVDF piezoelectric sensing technology is presented for the test of wheel/rail contact force. Firstly, on the basis of the theory of vehicle-track coupling dynamics and by means of simulation software ADAMS/Rail, a three-dimensional train-track simulation model is established. Secondly, the modes and characteristics of wheel/rail impact vibrations due to non-roundness of railway wheels are investigated in high-speed railway operation. The relationship between the range for acceptable roundness values and vehicle speed is determined. Finally, the view that it is of important significance to establish wheel/rail force real-time monitoring system is expanded, so that abnormal conditions caused by out-of-round wheels can be detected in time, to ensure high-speed railway traffic safety. The study is very important for enhancing the stability and economy signification of rail transmission.

Abstract: In order to investigate the additional expansion force of continuous welded rails (CWR) on extra-long continuous bridges of high-speed railways, the integrative spatial finite element model of track-bridge-pier system is established with the nonlinear spring element simulating the longitudinal resistance between track and bridge. In this paper, the influences of several parameters to the additional expansion force of CWR are studied, including the different resistance models, the number of main spans, the arrangement of adjacent bridges as well as the pier’s longitudinal stiffness. Some conclusions are drawn through comparisons and analysis, which could provide valuable references for design and application of long-span continuous bridges on high-speed railways.

Abstract: With the development of economy and technology, many high-speed railways have been constructed. However, many of these railway lines have to pass through strong wind areas, and the cross wind in these areas would reduce the operational safety, thus windscreen is an effective facility in many engineering cases to protect the running trains from strong winds. There are two kinds of windscreen, the unilateral windscreen and the enclosed windscreen. By numerical wind tunnel technique, the impacts of the two kinds of windscreen on the lateral force acted on the running trains are analyzed, meanwhile the operational safety could be also evaluated. According to the research results, the moment coefficient has a relatively small variation when the height of the windscreen is more than 3m. The unilateral windscreen with a ventilation rate of 20% is more favorable for the operational safety than the enclosed windscreen.

Abstract: CFG pile-net composite foundation has the advantages of small post construction settlement and uneven settlement, easy control of construction quality and fast construction speed. It`s widely used in subgrade engineering of high-speed railway. However, in coastal soft soil area, phenomena like breaking pile, collapsed embankment, cracking in embankment surface, undue settlement or convergence appeared in many places where railway CFG pile was improved during the foundation treatment, filling and preloading. Four numerical calculations were performed to investigate the failure pattern of CFG pile-net composite foundation with FLAC3D ( Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua, 3 dimensions) software. The paper describes four failure pattern, they are slip circle shear failure, pile tilt failure, roadbed sliding, soil sliding at pile end respectively through the analysis of the embankment and pile displacement as well as embankment deformation.

Abstract: foreign matter invasion is a disastrous hazard regarding the safety and stability of high speed railway. Considering the fact that foreign matter invasion forecast is not matured yet,development of foreign matter invasion warning system is a very important countermeasure for foreign matter invasion disaster mitigation. Basic principles of the foreign matter invasion warning system and its application to railways are presented. The state-of-the-art of the foreign matter invasion warning systems for high speed railways around the world is introduced. Main points in development of the foreign matter invasion warning system for high speed railways are discussed, including layout of monitoring stations and monitoring means selection, with particular attention paid to railway safety operations. The present review is expected to be of significance to the development of the early warning system for high-speed railways in China.
