Abstract: Eddy current nondestructive evaluation (ECNDE) techniques are widely used in structural integrity and health monitoring. A novel algorithm was proposed for characterizing eddy current (EC) signals. In scanning inspection, the EC signals responding to impedance change were pre-processed for noise elimination and feature extraction. After feature extraction, Bayesian networks (BNs) were carried out to classify EC signals. It is shown by extensive experiments that kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) is better than principal component analysis (PCA) for feature extraction. The methods using BNs by KPCA feature extraction can perform better than the other classification methods.

Abstract: In this paper, we construct the multi-scale and level set algorithm of the parameter recovery for the elastic wave equations in the fluid-saturated porous media. Firstly, based on the Biot theory, we apply the multi-scale method to simulate the propagation of 2-D elastic wave in fluid-saturated porous media. Secondly, the level set method is introduced to the general parameter estimation problem.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a new computational inverse method for solving the identification of multi-source dynamic loads acting on a simply supported plate. Using a priori choosing appropriate regularization parameter, the present method can obtain higher optimum asymptotic order of the regularized solution than ordinary Tikhonov regularization method. In the numerical simulations, the identification problem of multi-source dynamic loads on a surface of simply supported plate is successfully solved by the present method. Meanwhile, most of its performances are better than ordinary Tikhonov regularization method.

Abstract: In this paper, we consider a set of inverse telecommunication network problem under norm. With the expansion of telecommunication network, more and more links and nodes will be added to the existed telecommunication network. The original network can not cover new nodes and some old links become useless. The telecommunication company wants to sell some old links and purchase some new links within a given budget, such that the network of the company is able to access all nodes. We consider the inverse problem by using weakly dominant set, which is to change the weights of the edges as little as possible such that the given edge set becomes a weakly dominant set under the new weights. In this paper, we propose a polynomial time algorithm for the inverse problem under norm, and we also present an example to illustrate the algorithm.

Abstract: This paper presents a general mathematical model for NC-machining an APT-LIKE rotating cutter. The design model of cutting-edge and helical groove are also developed by using the principles of differential geometry and kinematics. The analytical solution for the resolution profile of helical groove has also been developed. The results of numerical experiment indicate that the proposed systematic design method by using 2-axis NC machine setup are feasible and reliable.

Abstract: The paper presents a method for obtaining the power of thermal source, based on finite element approach, when the temperature distribution is known from an infrared image. The method is solving for the load vector, and extracts the power at element level from this vector.

Abstract: Consider the simply connected spring-mass system with partial mass connected to the ground. The inverse mode problem of constructing the physical elements of the system from two eigenpairs, the grounding spring stiffness and total mass of the system is considered. The necessary and sufficient conditions for constructing a physical realizable system with positive mass and stiffness elements are established. If these conditions are satisfied, the grounding spring-mass system may be constructed uniquely. The numerical methods and examples are given finally.

The inverse mode problem of constructing the physical elements of the system from two eigenpairs and the total mass of the system is considered. If these conditions are satisfied, the simply connected central symmetric spring-mass system may be constructed uniquely. The numerical methods and examples are given finally.
