Abstract: Three important aspects of phase-mining must be optimized: the number of phases, the geometry and position of each phase-pit (including the ultimate pit), and the ore and waste quantities to be mined in each phase. A model is presented in this paper in which, a sequence of geologically optimum pits are first generated and then dynamically evaluated to simultaneously optimize the above three aspects, with the objective of maximizing the overall net present value. The model takes into full account of the dynamic nature of the problem with respect to both time and space, and is robust in accommodating different pit wall slopes and different bench heights.

Abstract: A dynamic sequencing method has been developed to simultaneously optimize the coal production rate, waste stripping rate, mining sequence, and mine life of an open-pit coal mine. The method first establishes a geological seam model of a bedded coal deposit which estimates the relevant attributes of coal seams at the center of each block on the X-Y plane. Based on the seam model, a sequence of “geologically optimum push-backs” is generated in the final pit. The geologically optimum push-backs are then put into a dynamic sequencing model and economically evaluated. The best production schedule which has the highest NPV is obtained, which indicates the best quantities of coal and waste to be mined in each year, the best zone to be mined in each year, and the best number of years to mine the entire final pit.

Abstract: As the complexity and the tall of open pit slope, two-dimensional slope stability analysis methods have been unable to meet the needs of the accuracy of stability analysis. Therefore, for the complex situation of Pingzhuang open pit slope, use with three-dimensional rigid body limit equilibrium method to analysisstability of slope.slope3D system, which consists of pre-treatment, limit equilibrium analysis solver and post-processing, the first processing core is to construct three-dimensional geological model of the slope, post-processing mainly results analysis and visualization graphics. The system combined organically the slope engineering geological information three-dimensional visualization and the analysis of stability, which make us to determine the landslide model, reveal the mechanism of landslide more accurately. Make an important contribution for ensuring safety in open pit production, a good foundation for slope stability analysis of other open pit.

Abstract: Using GIS(Geographic Information System), GPS(Global Positioning System), and GPRS(General Packet Radio Service), an digital mining control management system in an open pit has been designed and developed. A linear programming model is set up in a practical application. By the model, the system can automatically draw up production plan of ore blending well every day. The system can monitor and dispatch open-pit trucks and shovels well, and can play back their historical paths. It can monitor and control the process of mining production in real time. The system can also count the number of trucks’ delivery and shovels’ loading automatically. Experiments on real scenes show that the performance of this system is stable and can satisfy production standards of ore blending in open pits.

Abstract: In view of open-pit mine complex special terrain, to improved method of constructing triangulated irregular net and combined with the extended boundary, that can remission the phenomenon that steps were flattened and the problem of inefficiency mining area model update. Using constrained triangulated irregular net once generation algorithm, through extraction of spatial data, establish topological relationships and spatial indexing, eventually build a constraints of triangulated irregular net within the boundary constraint line. Combining extended boundary with the triangulated irregular net generated algorithm, can realize the establishment partial model as well as partial and overall model splicing. Thus enhanced the efficiency of the mining area overall model updating.

Abstract: As mining production developing, the deformation is gradually increasing in the northwest side of the surface mine. The blasting vibration of daily production is influence on the slope. Through decomposing, restructuring and analyzing the blasting vibration signals of different elevations and explosion distances, we got that the seismic wave energy was mainly distributed low frequency range, usually less in 20Hz and that with the explosion distance increasing, the high-frequency signal energy would be lost, especially when low-frequency signal energy below 10Hz low-frequency become into the main part of the energy. As explosion (center) distance increases, the signal energy is concentrated in the low frequency. Whereas, with the elevation increasing, the seismic wave energy will move to high frequency and has a homogenizing tendency; the percentage of the low frequency energy will be decreased relatively.

Abstract: The stability of slope in open-pit affects the economic benefits and safety production of mining enterprises. From the two aspects of internal factors and external factors, this paper analyses the factors affecting the slope stability of open-pit, discusses the basic theory of slope stability analysis, and puts forward the criterion of slope stability based on the safety coefficient. The limit equilibrium method is chosen to analyze the stability of the high and steep slope of open-pit in this paper, and the SLIDE software is used for numerical simulation according to the actual slope model of certain open-pit. The simulation results show that the slope safety coefficient of the instance is 1.01, which is unstable slope. When the number of the slope blocks is more than 40, the safety coefficient tend to be stable. Blasting vibration has a great influence on slope stability. The results of slope stability analysis provide a scientific guidance for the prevention and control of the slope instability.

Abstract: Chengmenshan open pit has been constructed to be the biggest copper pit in China. The slope designed with empirical rock mass rating and engineering analogy needs reinvestigation and evaluation for its overall stability. With help of SURPAC, the topographic contour of the mine was converted into surface model. Then the geological information of the mine was embedded into the numerical solid model by NURBS treatment of the core loggings. Through overall stability analysis with MIDAS, it was found that there was no obvious failure in the pit with the current design. But the major principal stress at the north especially the north-east corner of the pit tended to be high, so the width of the bench below the high stress region is suggested to be widened for possible collapse in this region. And field observation should be carried out in the region. Once evident slip or collapse happens, anchor and netting structures should be used. At the same time, high shear stress zones were revealed at the south-east of the outside limit of the pit. More planting is suggested to avoid soil creep or even landslides in heavy rain.

Abstract: Slopes of open-pit mine and ash storage are likely to occur the geological disasters of landslides, collapse, ground deforms and so on, due to geological structure, mining activity, etc. Lai Zhou Power plant is going to use the open-pit of Cang Shang gold mine as the ash storage field. Therefore, the long-term stability of the slope is of great significance. Through the geological investigation and analysis of open-pit mine slope, the conditions of geological and tectonic are summarized. On the basis of field monitoring, the stability of the slope is analyzed in detail. The estimated results can better correspond to the actual stability of the open-pit slope. Feasible practical control scheme and monitoring program are put forward according to the engineering practice
