Abstract: Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) are commonly used in direct-drive wind power generation systems, which produce high efficiency, high reliability and low cost in wind power generation. This paper presents a new and simple control scheme using predictive control, which is used in PMSGs and grid-connected inverters. The controller uses the models of PMSGs and grid-connected inverters to predict on each sampling interval. A cost function defines the desired behavior of the system. The switching state that minimizes the cost function is selected and applied during the next sampling interval. At any wind speed within the operating range, the PMSG rotor speed can optimally controlled to extract maximum wind power. The simulated results show that the proposed control scheme can provide the direct-drive wind power generation system with the maximum efficiency and high dynamic performance.

Abstract: Abstract. Yarn tension controlling at heart is tuning servo-motor speed on a restricted range. In this paper, we proposed an advanced model predictive control strategy to solving filament winding system time-delay problem. The application of controlled auto-regressive integrated moving-average (CARIMA) model was described the dynamic time-varying character. The parameters of CARIMA model were solved by recursive least squares parameter estimation method through input-output data. And using the receding optimization method acquire controlling amount in the future. The result of simulation shows that the method is effective and the control structure is simple.

Abstract: Due to wind power generation system (WGS) is strongly nonlinear, multi-input multi-output and with high turbulent disturbance, we build a offset-free model considering system noise and measurement noise and its predictive controller for all operating area from cut-in speed to the cut-out wind speed. Finally we predict the optimum generator torque and pitch control signal. By add damping mode in drive train using torque control, the purpose of smoother power and less torsional torque pulsation on drive train are achieved. Simulation results shows that this predictive controller is able to reduce the impact of noise and interference on the system, ensuring constant power output and reducing the torque pulsation.

Abstract: A digital dc-dc converter with fast transient response and low overshoot is introduced, in which an additional predictive component based on multisampling technique is added to the conventional controller. The predictive function uses the second derivative of the error signal and linear extrapolation technique. A theoretical model is derived for the converter, and simulation result indicates that the design achieves better dynamic performance.

Abstract: This paper presents a new predictive artificial potential field approach for robot soccer path planning under complex and uncertain environment. By predicting and analyzing the future position and attitude of concerned object, the position and attitude of the object is controlled by demonstration algorithm. The proposed method is successfully used in the robor soccer shooting and is realized on the MiroSot 3vs3 simulating platform. Experiment results show that this algorithm has good real-time ability and adaptability to environment.

Abstract: Remote vehicle steering assist is quite necessary for reducing traffic accidents when the driver is in risky driving states such as fatigue, drunk and so on. Communication such as internet, GPS and GSM is usually applied in this kind of remote control process. During network transmission, data packets were inevitably lost more or less, which has negative influence on the remote steering operation. In order to solve this problem, model of some remote steering system was built so as to analyze the steering quality. A packet dropout compensator was designed and applied from the aspect of predictive compensate control using hybrid pi-sigmoid fuzzy neural network. Simulation results showed that the compensator worked effectively to reduce the bad influence of packet dropout during remote vehicle steering procedure.

Abstract: In decade years, several simple methods for the automatic tuning of PID controllers have been proposed. There have been different approaches to the problem of deriving a PID-like adaptive controller. All of these can be classified into two broad categories: model-based; or expert systems. In this paper a new expert adaptive controller is proposed in which the underlying control law is a PID structure. The design is based on the fuzzy logic and the generalized predictive control theory. The proposed controller can be applied to a large class of systems which is model uncertainty or strong non-linearity. Simulation results have also been illustrated. It shows that the proposed expert PID-like controller performed well than generally used PID.

Abstract: This paper presents a predictive control strategy for seismic protection of a benchmark cable-stayed bridge with consideration of multiple-support excitations. In this active control strategy, a multi-step predictive model is built to estimate the seismic dynamics of cable-stayed bridge and the effects of some complicated factors such as time-varying, model mismatching, disturbances and uncertainty of controlled system, are taken into account by the prediction error feedback in the multi-step predictive model. The prediction error is that the actual system output is compared to the model prediction at each time step. Numerical simulation is carried out for analyzing the seismic responses of the controlled cable-stayed bridge and the results show that the developed predictive control strategy can reduce the seismic response of benchmark cable-stayed bridge efficiently.

Abstract: In this paper, we present an advanced way to control the DC/DC converter by using predictive control. As the current state of the circuit must be known while using the predictive control, state observer is applied to solve the problem that some variables of DC/DC converter can not be observed. Neural network optimization is used to solve the QP problems in single sample step of predictive control. Simulation results show that this approach can utilize fast converge property of neural network and the new control strategy turns out to be very efficiency.
