Abstract: The fire protection method of steel space truss structures was researched. Fire protection methods of steel structures were listed. For steel space truss structures, the advantages and disadvantages of fire protection methods were introduced. The screen method was suitable for fire protection of steel space truss structures. One project of fire protection of steel space truss structure was shown as an example. The process of screen method was provided for fire protection of steel space truss structures. According to this project, the technology of fire protection of steel space truss structures was enriched. The research results could help to deal with fire protection of steel space truss structures.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is finite element presentation for vibration response of the intelligent structure (consisting peizoeectric members) and modification of the response. The active element consists of a piezoelectric ceramic actuator stack, a force transducer and mechanical interfaces. An integral plus double-integral force controller is designed to suppress vibration of the truss. In this paper, in order to find the best piezoelectric operator’s location in spatial truss and optimizing the performance of the member by changing the property of the members, an algorithm is presented to achieve desired natural frequency. Therefore, finite element method of spatial truss is extracted. The results are admitted by ANSYS software. At the end, an example to show the application of the relations is given.

Abstract: A new geometric nonlinear formulation for large-deflection static problems involving complex space truss structure is presented. Based on the finite element method, the proposed formulation uses nodal positions rather than nodal displacements to describe the problem. The strain is determined directly from the proposed position concept, using a Cartesian coordinate system fixed in space. The proposed formulation is simple and yields good results. Numerical results indicate that the proposed formulation is validity.

Abstract: Shape formation of post-tensioned and shaped hypar space truss is presented in this paper, the test space truss can be deformed into saddle shape by tensioning positive diagonal bottom layer strand. Nonlinear finite element analysis is applied in shape formation of space truss model. Based on both geometry and material nonlinearity, new FEM refering ‘tube to tube’ contact, is employed. Connector elements are used to simulate the bolt connection of the top joint, and the end of web. The results show that new method is relatively much more accurate than the previous way for the shaped size, and the theoretical values are consistent with experimental ones in stress and internal force distribution trend although the former ones are smaller, for FE model could not consider diagonal lower chord joining the structural system during shape formation.

Abstract: In construction of the steel roof a computer-controlled lifting construction technology was adopted. It differed from other similar projects in some points. First, the steel roof had large area, long-span and huge weight; next, the structure form in lifting process differed from the design status; at last, the deformation of steel roof in lifting process could not been ignored. If these characteristics could not been considered in lifting process, it maybe bring large project accident. So in this article the finite element model of the structure in the lifting status had been rebuilt. Considering the displacement difference the lifting process had been analyzed. By the analysis the influence of the displacement difference of the lifting points could be found out. Comparing with the value of the construction measure the finite element model could be validated and corrected. The conclusions of research could be used by the similar construction.
