Abstract: The main purpose of optimum installation of the viscoelastic damper is to make the structure has a better seismic capacity.So we need find a reasonable objective function and a method to solve this function.This paper put forward a kind of optimization method based on the performance objective,explore suitability and feasibility of this method on the steel frame structure,and analyse the results compare with other optimization methods.The analytical method and the results has certain guiding significance for optimization of the viscoelastic damper in practical engineering.

Abstract: In order to make sure the structures have well seismic performance, the designer adopt dynamic time-history analysis method .But there is a problem to calculate the dynamic response of the structures which is how to find a scientific and reasonable criterion to select seismic wave records. In order to solve this problem and find a scientific and proper criterion to select seismic wave records, this paper referred to the standards ruled by the new Chinese Seismic Design Code for hydraulic structures and used the numerical analysis and scientific computation, conducted a well meticulous analysis, then put forward one way to select seismic records for time-history analysis method of hydro-structure. Except for taking the site condition, the fortified intensity, the duration into consideration, the author also give more emphasis on the fitting degree between the response spectra of seismic records with the new code to provide better fitting degree.

Abstract: Energy dissipation structure is favored by designers because the earthquake energy can be dissipated by the dampers, which can avoid or reduce the damage caused by earthquake. However, the energy dissipation structure design is complex and the most domestic designers can not master it easily. In this paper, a simple and practicable design method for viscous damper dissipation structure by using the PKPM design software is proposed based on a 7-storey frame structure in highly seismic region. Firstly, lower half or one degree for the design intensity to design out an uncontrolled structure. Secondly, determine the supplemental damping ratio required for the fortification intensity via modal analysis method of PKPM software, and identify the numbers of the required dampers as well as their corresponding installation positions in line with the methods in the seismic code of China. Finally, the ETABS program is adopted to conduct the time-history analysis of the designed dissipation structure, showing that the proposed method in this paper can produce a satisfied result.

Abstract: In this study a kind of buckling-restrained braces (BRBs) as energy dissipation dampers is attempted for seismic performance of large span double-layer reticulated shell and the effectiveness of BRBs to protect structures against strong earthquakes is numerically studied. The hysteretic curve of such members is obtained through the simulation of the cyclic-loading test, and the equations of motion of the system under earthquake excitations are established. BRBs are then placed at certain locations on the example reticulated shell to replace some normal members, and the damping effect of the two installation schemes of BRBs is investigated by non-linear time-history analyses under various ground motions representing major earthquake events. Compared with the seismic behavior of the original structure without BRBs, satisfactory seismic performance is seen in the upgraded models, which clarifies the BRBs can reduce the vibration response of spatial reticulated structure effectively and the new system has wide space to develop double layer reticulated shell.

Abstract: As a result of adopting isolated bearings, it is inevitable to increase the lateral displacement of the superstructure and the chance of girder falling. However, the shear keys that just satisfies the structural design is far from meeting the requirements of displacement of isolated bridge restrictions. On account of this, given the nonlinear characteristics of bearings and the restrainer, the authors make the study on the "damping rubber with coupling collar" restrainer, and then establish isolation system model of continuous beam bridge with finite element software named Midas. Meanwhile, the effect of the restrainer on the dynamic response of isolated bridges is presented by time-history analysis, which reveals the great value in the application of limiting displacement of isolated bridge.

Abstract: A certain amount of viscous dampers are installed in the 10-storey frame structure in line with different distribution strategies, and then 2 sets of strong earthquake records and 1 set of artificial acceleration time-history curve are selected to conduct the time-history analysis under both frequently and rarely earthquakes via ETABS software. Based on the comparison of the time-history analysis results in various working cases, the ideal energy dissipation results can be obtained when the dampers are installed in the lower stories with a larger storey drift, which also help to utilize the upper space of the structure. The time-history analysis shows that the viscous dampers installed in the lower part of a building have a better effectiveness of vibration isolation than those in the upper parts, and it is no necessary to install too many dampers, for the energy dissipation effects tend to be steady when the number of dampers has been increased to a level.

Abstract: In order to research the seismic behaviors of the eccentrically braced steel frames, used finite element software SAP2000 to build 20-storey single frame models with type D, K, and Y eccentrically braces, and did the seismic time history analyses to them. Comparisons were set between different kinds of braces in the distributions of moments, displacements, and accelerations for different layers produced by the EICENTRO seismic wave, TianJin seismic wave and NanJing seismic wave. Also, the analyses were set in the time history curves of displacements and accelerations. The results reveal that: type K is able to control the moments and displacements of the layers; while type Y is good at restricting the acceleration amplified effect, and the seismic behavior of type D is between the former two types.

Abstract: In this paper, the models of traditional anti-seismic and base-isolated masonry and concrete frame composite structures were created by the three-dimensional finite element program and their time history responses were analyzed under the actions of different seismic waves. The results show that whether they were under the action of frequently occurred earthquake or rarely occurred earthquake, the story shears of base-isolated structure are far less than those of traditional anti-seismic structure; the lateral displacements of the former are nearly translational, while those of the latter are approximately parabolic; and the fundamental period of the former is much longer than the counterpart. In conclusion, the seismic fortification intensity of base-isolated structure is one or two degree less than that of traditional anti-seismic structure, and adopting the base-isolated structure will protect the life-safety and property of people and achieve good economic benefits as well.

Abstract: The masonry-concrete shear wall is a kind of new composite structure developed from the masonry wall, and the seismic behavior of it is better than the traditional one. The article used ANSYS to do the time history analysis for the traditional masonry wall and masonry-concrete shear wall with different characteristic stiffness coefficients, different installation modes of shear walls.The calculation data not only proved researches in reasonable value of characteristic stiffness coefficients, but also about the effects in the seismic ability of different masonry-concrete shear walls installation modes.

Abstract: In order to study the vibration and seismic performance of K8 triangular cone partial double layer spherical reticulated shell and analyze the factors that impact its self-vibration and seismic performance, this paper used parametric design language APDL of ANSYS to establish the shell model,then used 3D El-Centro seismic waves to analyze the influencing factors of its self-vibration and seismic performance by changing the ratio of rise to span, the ratio of thickness to span, bar section area and other parameters. Therefore this paper get some conclusions with engineering significance.
