Abstract: The increasing concern on low carbon and environment protection has aroused a broader awareness of the sustainable development issues to be given to the environmental impacts of packaging products through the whole life cycle. The research of carbon footprint takes the high lights among these studies. The calculation of carbon emissions on commodities has shown many advantages on estimation of global greenhouse gas emissions. In this work, glass bottle liquor packaging was selected as the researching object, its equivalent carbon emissions were investigated by hybrid life cycle method. Through the carbon emissions research of the processes during the whole life cycle including raw materials’ production, packaging process, transportation, consumption and recycling, the carbon footprint on liquor packaging was calculated. The results indicated that the transportation and production of glass bottle contribute the most parts of total carbon emissions, which provides a case support for energy conservation and the development of green packaging.

Abstract: The thermodynamic cycle analysis of diesel engines using the engine cycle simulation programs is feasible. The comparison of dual and LIVC miller cycles engine fueled with ED10 diesel/ethanol blends on temperature and emissions are investigated by simulation. From the comparison, +0.85 EIVC miller cycle is a selection for an optimizing point of miller cycle ratio, i.e, the intake valve timing of the engine is good for NO emission, SOOT emission and the engine power output. The difference of EIVC and LIVC miller cycle was studied. The results show the tendency of performance with EIVC miller cycle is similar to that of LIVC miller cycle. But the peak cylinder combustion temperature of EIVC miller cycle become lower relative to LIVC miller cycle, which lead to slightly lower NO emission and slightly higher SOOT emission for EIVC miller cycle.

Abstract: B-spline method plays an important role in data interpolating, fitting and smoothing. Through analyzing the computed path of the de Boor-Cox algorithm, a new method for calculating B-spline function is given based on the vector extending operation. The proposed method has a parallel computing architecture and is suitable to realize by computers. Compared with the de Boor-Cox algorithm, the proposed method can improve computing efficiency by (2k+1) times in the task of calculating all nonzero values of k-degree B-spine functions. As an application in B-spline curve fitting, it shows that the proposed algorithm can reduce the computing efforts obviously.

Abstract: A multidimensional constitutive model for shape memory alloys (SMA) is developed in the paper, which is based on the thermodynamics theories of free energy and dissipation energy. This model can well describe both the shape memory effect (SME) and super elasticity effect (SE) of the thin-walled SMA cylinder under an axial tensional force and torsion.

Abstract: There are many factors affecting vessels stopping distance and crash stopping distance, and it is very complicated to calculate them accurately. At present there are several calculation methods about them, but all these methods have large error. Based on the research of the existing calculation methods, this paper simplifies vessel resistance and calculates vessels stopping distance and crash stopping distance accurately by means of physical and mathematical methods.

Abstract: Nowadays, due to the serious shortage of energy resource, the research and application of new alternative energy has become an important task for each country and government all over the world. In order to protect environment and raise the utilization of marine power, Maritime Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of International Maritime Organization (IMO) encouraged ship operators to use new alternative energies to reduce marine CO2 emission. Currently, marine new energy technologies mainly include solar energy, wind energy, waste heat recovery and biological substitute fuel. Wind energy, as a clean and easy getting energy, has been paid a high attention to. This paper mainly introduces the basic features and calculation of wind energy, and then put forwards some shortcomings in the application of it on the ships.

Abstract: This paper firstly starting mechanism of vibration and noise from gear, gear noise mechanism is explained, and analyze the factors and the impact of noise on the gear reducer. Secondly, the establishment of a complete solid model of gear reducer and reducer model for finite element model, the reduction gear box gear reducer of modal analysis and finite element modal calculation, and points out the dynamic analysis of structure, size and weight factor is proportional to the reciprocal of the modal frequencies of each mode is the with the frequency is low, that is, the greater the weight. Once again, the main measure of load and control of gear noise of gear is analyzed, including the calculation, for exciting force reduction gear reducer gear load computation. The analysis and calculation are the theoretical basis of gear structure design and its performance evaluation.

Abstract: This paper proposed a fast weighting improving method based on an improved Newton's method with third-order convergence, made the intuitive geometric interpretation of the algorithm principle, and constructed a sum function of squared errors to obtain the optimal weighting factor. With a certain example being provided, the results showed that the improved algorithm requires less iterations and less calculating time than the classical Newtons method and the one in references. This improved algorithm is of widespread value in the analysis and calculation of power systems.
