Abstract: Abstract. In the twenty-first Century," sustainable development" as a slogan has been putting forward resonantly. Today, for our own survival and development, the design community has brought forward the slogan "green design". It means: resource conservation and environmental protection are the main idea and method, protection natural ecology, making full advantage of resources, people-oriented, environment friendly. Green design is the inevitable trend of clothing design. This paper discusses the green clothing design strategies from the green eco-friendly materials, how to rationalize clothing design.

Abstract: The paper takes computer digital image processing as a foundation, laboratory analysis as the confirmation method, and takes garment industry production as the application production, researching the information characteristic of the clothing image design, the signal extraction, and the basic conversion rule in order to explore the computer-aided design of clothing pattern, apparel images (CAD), as well as the achievement of automatic laser cutting on complex design and apparel-hanging through the information technology. The topic emphatically discusses different graphic file format conversion technology and establishes the best craft parameter database that suits the laser cutting via the ACCESS software, while carrying on the shape error and precision analysis. The topic research conclusion will provide effective, reliable technology and the data support for the laser cutting craft in fashion industry. And it will enhance the laser processing efficiency of the fashion and the apparel hanging as well as guarantee the cutting quality to achieve the best effect.

Abstract: This paper firstly introduces the performance of some kinds of thermal protective clothing materials, for example, Nomex, Polysulfonamide fiber (PSA), polyphenylene sulfide fiber (PPS) and pre-oxidized fiber. Then mainly states the application status through investigation. According to their merits and demerits, we can improve clothes' comfort and functionality through blending. Finally, we should aim to gain more practical and environmental friendly thermal protective fibers.

Abstract: In this paper, the contents of knowledge base for clothing sensory design are defined as four parts: the clothing design elements, semantic expression, reflection between the former two and design rules. The character and contents of each part are discussed and analyzed respectively. Methods of interviewing, laddering, card sorting, analytic hierarchy process (AHP), Hierarchy structure, triangle fuzzy numbers, literature reviewing etc. are chosen for the knowledge elicitation and representation. The men’s suit is used as a case study to explain the whole procedure of knowledge base construction. The style design elements of the men’s suit are decomposed into 9 items and 28 categories. The semantic space of the sensory evaluation towards the men’s suit is modelled in the form of 4 word-pairs: formal- casual, classical- modern, gorgeous- simple and elegant- masculine. The triangular fuzzy numbers are introduced to quantify the 7-point scales of linguistic descriptions (extreme, very, rather, average, rather, very and extreme). And the reflection of the design elements space and semantic space is acquired and represented. The design rule of the men’s suit is obtained by the method of literature reviewing and interviewing. It includes both the basic rule derived from the beauty rule and the design principle based on consumers’ character such as body type and facial colour etc. All techniques and methods are not limited to men’s suit itself but can be extended to other garments or products. The conclusions of the paper will play an important role in realizing the goals such as clothing individuation, sensation, intellectualization and fashion etc.

Abstract: Aiming at current environmental condition of energy shortage and excessive emission, this paper presents the development of solar energy clothing on human comfort. In this clothing, solar flexible materials are made into appropriate part of garment. In ensuring the comfort of human, this garment can accumulate solar energy, safely output stable current. So this clothing has the function of providing power. After a number of experiments and analysis, this clothing is proved that it has convenient, practical, favorable environment, and comfort for human.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper was to investigate the conformity of clothing color to wearing scenes. 10 colors were selected as stimuli, and each of them was divided into 9 brightnesses. The conformities of them to different scenes such as Home Scene (HS), Athletic Scene (AS), Office Scene (OS), Social Scene (SS) and Leisure Scene (LS) were evaluated by 129 undergraduate students respectively. The results showed that: (1) there were no significant differences in the use of colors at 5 different wearing scenes; (2) there were significant differences between different hues used in each scene: except purple, primary colors got higher acceptance than secondary colors; blue were popular at different wearing scenes; (3) there were also significant differences in the evaluation among different brightness used in each scene: colors with low brightness used at Office Scene and Social Scene are ideal; colors with high brightness used at Home Scene were easy to be accepted; colors with medium brightness used at Athletic Scene and Leisure Scene were the most popular.

Abstract: Size-illusion of color can affect wearing performance. In the current study, three styles of clothing and a rectangular piece whose area was similar to those of the clothing with various colors were evaluated in behavioral experiments. The purpose of the study is to explore the influence of saturation, brightness and hue of colors on size-illusion. Results show that size-illusion is most outstanding on the dimension of brightness, and it is more prominent on clothes than on color pieces. The picture with high saturation is bigger than that of low saturation, with high brightness or with longer wavelength displays an expansion effect. The size-illusion may be related with the background color.
