Abstract: Digital camera is widely used in the data collection of objective and background in the field of pattern design and supervisory controlling. However, the color in digital photo copied from camera is not in accord with the actual color of objective, which affects the accuracy of design pattern. The polynomial regression algorithm is widely used in color reproduction of image input and output area. The accuracy of color reproduction is related to the different order. Therefore, the field experiment is developed. The application indicates that the performance of four order polynomial regression color reproduction is the best algorithms and it can be used in color reproduction.

Abstract: Digital camera which has the advantage of real-time image transferring and easily processing is more and more widely used in the packaging and printing industry with the rapid development of high-tech electronics industry. However, the color in digital camera is not accurate which affect the application. To minimize the color difference between the color in the digital camera and the real color, the color reproduction methods is developing. The field comparative experiment is carried out to compare the performance of color reproduction methods, such as polynomial regression algorithm in different color space, and color checker passport. The results show that fourth order polynomial regression color reproduction in XYZ color space has the best performance.

Abstract: In digital printing process, the color reproduction quality is no longer determined by printing sequence, trapping, solid density and etc., since the technique is different from traditional printing technology. In order to analyze the effects of paper on color reproduction quality in digital ink-jet printing, three kinds of commercial paper were selected and a set of experiments were carried out by using color management technique to simulate the digital proofing. The density and chromaticity of both primary color and composite color in each printed were measured. The effects of paper’s characters on shadow, mid-tone and highlight were analyzed and discussed. Finally the influence on color reproduction quality principle, including chromaticity and absorbing characteristics of paper, was revealed. The conclusion has certain significance in directive function in ink-jet printing.

Abstract: With the rapid development of color science, especially the ink-jet printing, the evaluation of the color copy effectiveness become one of the most important evaluation parameters in the ink-jet printing. Meanwhile, it makes the evaluation of the effectiveness of color reproduction become more and more quantitative. This paper selects four ink-jet printing papers with different types and physical properties, according to measurement and analysis of the whiteness, gloss, roughness, absorption and other performance parameters of the papers, it shows the effect from the various performance parameters of ink-jet printing paper to color reproduction. At the same time, the study of this paper offers a certain practical guidance to the selection of ink-jet printing paper as well as the improvement of replication precision of ink-jet printing.

Abstract: The properties of iCAM appearance model including the viewing conditions calculation, chroma adaptation transformation, IPT properties computation and perception correlation calculation was studied according to the researches studied in the paper. iCAM color appearance model was proposed as the PCS in this paper and the effects on printing image reproduction and evaluation were studied. The conclusions showed that setting iCAM as the PCS had an important role in improving color conversion accuracy and the high fidelity reproduction quality of printing image.

Abstract: Counterfeit and shoddy food is becoming more and more rampant, which has put forward higher request towards the food packaging anti-counterfeiting materials and technology. UV fluorescent inkjet ink not only can greatly improve the situation, also can enhance the artistic effect of packaging. What’s more, it is more difficult to counterfeit. In order to obtain color reproduction regular pattern of UV fluorescent inkjet inks, grey scale which contented 21 levels was respectively printed. The color reproduction abilities of three kinds of fluorescent inkjet inks were compared. The effects of lightness and glossiness of the paper on the color reproduction of fluorescent inkjet inks were discussed. The white balance was adjusted by changing the dot percentages of fluorescent inkjet inks. The experimental results showed that color reproduction regular patterns and abilities of red, green and blue UV fluorescent inkjet inks were different. The lightness and glossiness of paper had a great influence on color reproduction; the white with maximum lightness had been obtained.

Abstract: Adding Optical Brightening Agent (OBA) during papermaking has been widely used in modern papermaking industry in order to improve paper whiteness. Because of ISO standard data is based on the paper without OBA, it makes a great diversity of result in color reproduction, and causes the printing production not to meet international standards. This research contrasted ISO whiteness and chroma value of paper with different amount of OBA, analyzed spectral data and tone in color reproduction of paper with different amount of OBA, then got the law of the effect of the ratio of OBA on ISO whiteness and chroma value, and the effect on color reproduction tone level in printing process. It can provide the reference for adding OBA during papermaking.

Abstract: Traditional color reproduction technology based on the Metamerism principle, the disadvantage is that different observer condition leads to different color appearance.To fulfill the color consistency, the spectrum reflectance of the object color sample need to be reconstructed. The principal component analysis makes use of the linear combination of a few principal components to reconstruct the spectral reflectance of sample. This paper analyzes the 31*31 matrix of Munsell spectral data by the principle component analyze method and achieves the principal component for spectrum reflectance. The numbers of principal components are identified as six by discussing the variance contribution rate. Spectral reconstruction of four Munsell testing samples makes use of first six principal components, which has met the accuracy requirements. Research shows that the reconstruction of spectral accuracy decreased when training samples and testing samples belong to the different database.

Abstract: The different paper has the different Surface Characteristic, which has the different influences on the printing color Reproduction. Through the paper printability, the color gamut experiments of digital printing, The influence of surface characteristics of paper on digital printing color reproduction was analyzed according to color rendering ability, The results indicated that the printed matter had better color efficiency, greater color gamut and smaller hue error and grayscale which had higher paper smoothness and glossiness, the higher paper whiteness is in favor of color reproduction. The surface characteristic of paper limits color reproduction. To ensure printing quality, should choose better color efficiency of paper.

Abstract: Paper surface efficiency (PSE), a paper property integrating gloss and absorbency, can be used to evaluate color reproduction after the interaction of paper and ink. But it was shown that the color reproduction was still related to paper whiteness in practice. So it is important to amend the PSE formula. In this paper, an assumed PSE formula which integrates gloss, whiteness and ink absorbency is firstly presented, and according to experimental data, it can be well forecasted that the change of these principal paper properties would affect color reproduction result via the new PSE formula. The data connection between the assumed and new PSE formula and ink color reproduction based the description of photo-density measurement and chromatic one was studied subsequently. The results showed that photo-density measurement was simpler and more practical than chromatic measurement.
