Abstract: This paper introduced a dual description logic for relations, in order to represent the difference of tuples and attribute values. In the logic, concepts are classified into two classes as follows: tuple-concepts and attribute-value concepts. This paper firstly gives the logical language, syntax and semantics of the logic, and secondly defines a transformation of a relation in a database into a knowledge base in the dual description logic, and last proposes a transformation of a model for the dual description logic into a relation.

Abstract: Embedded systems are the most popular computer application systems. Their applications have changed life of people in the world. They can be found anywhere, and almost can be used in every field. But few people know the concept of an embedded system. In this paper, the concept and definition of embedded systems are discussed and analyzed. A considered concept of embedded system should include several factors, computer core, to build in, managed object and relevant software, despite to issue a consistent definition is difficult.

Abstract: Greenway construction theory originates in western countries. At first, more emphasis was attached on the landscape function, which is the combination of artificial landscape and natural landscape. As the theory and practice develop, the green way construction is on its way to sophistication and maturity. Nowadays, it has become an essential way to improve the urban ecological environment and the urban life quality. This essay mainly reviews the origin of the greenway construction in foreign countries, the definition, phase classification, planning issues and functions etc and takes the experience of western countries as reference, hoping to shed some light on the theoretical innovation and practice of greenway construction in China.

Abstract: This paper analyzes on the unique concept, design and construction of waterproofing and drainage of Pit House in the west of Henan Province, China. The drainage design of Pit House concentrates on the water shutoff for controlling of catchment area and preventing rainwater flooding, the water drainage for draining water from roof, and the water seepage for draining off rain from underground courtyard. The waterproof mainly focuses on the protection to key waterproof parts of building materials and easy ways of building technology.

Abstract: Under the background of the global energy crisis and environmental issues, the efficient utilization of renewable energy as a kind of distributed energy resources, is paid more and more attention. However, the intermittency and unpredictability of the renewable energies limit its development and penetration. To deal with such a big challenge, the multi-source hybrid distributed energy system has been proposed. In this paper, the concept and characteristics of the multi-source hybrid distributed energy system are discussed. In addition, three main forms of the proposed innovation energy system are presents and compared.

Abstract: The paper puts forward the design logic and methods for waterfront buildings through three examples of architectural practice, covering the fields from education, commerce to museum buildings, which are all inspired as well as influenced by water. By analyzing the relationship between water and architecture, the paper lists five aspects namely overall concept, circulation, function, space and landscape, in which the water context guides and decides the design process and outcome.

Abstract: The paper presents a novel approach to comparative evaluation of engineering design concepts that exhibit non-linear structural behaviour under load. The developed method has extended the substructures technique in order to apply the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method to complex non-linear structural problems in the conceptual design phase. As conventional FE models based on substructures allow only linear analysis, it was necessary in this research to introduce a new algorithm capable of linearizing non-linear structural problems with sufficient accuracy in order to enable comparative evaluation of design concepts relative to each other under the given constraints and loading conditions. A comparative study with respect to model size, efficiency, accuracy and confidence was performed to validate the developed method. Obtained results indicate significant improvement over more traditional approaches to applying FEA in the conceptual design phase. The improvements achieved using the developed method compared to the traditional FE based approach are superior by a factor of 2.7 in efficiency and by a factor of 4.5 in confidence while not sacrificing the optimality of the solutions.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of the current research status of intelligent optimization algorithms, a concept of reconfigurable intelligent optimization is proposed according to the demands of different users and developing trends. A framework of software system platform for realizing the reconfigurable intelligent optimization is proposed, and a case study is given out to illustrate its application.

Abstract: Concept integration, connection, and reuse are at the heart of Web services. The connection between two concepts can be achieved easily provided both share the same theorematic space. This in turn can be achieved by reusing constructs from foundational concepts and standard domain theme. Although the current produce of concept development methods and tools have made it a lot easier to build a new concept, reusing concepts from existing concepts remains difficult. The main reasons for this are the uncertainty in presentation conversions of concepts from foundational concepts. In this paper we have introduced a novel method for sense certainty to help the human expert in presentation conversion.

Abstract: In the process of urban construction in several thousand years, Chinese insisted on the principle of "man and nature co-existing in harmony", however, in recent years, due to blind pursuit of economic development, this principle was fading out. Taking advantage of urban resources without planning was confronting the city with an unprecedented crisis. This article reveals the problems in the guiding ideology of current urban planning and construction, and points out that we have to return to nature of urban planning and construction from the guiding ideology to realize rational development and utilization.
