Abstract: Spain and Portugal share a common track gauge, different from the European standard gauge, and they have come to have 5 rail connections of which only 3 are currently active. On the two disused connections two different programs have developed for their respective protection, conservation, and valuation in the service of society. In the Spanish province of Salamanca, the route from the railway station of Boadilla-Fuente de San Esteban to the Portuguese border. This route has been recognized as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) since 2000 and has been preserved including all the infrastructure and a good part of the railway superstructure. The Camino de Hierro program, at the final section, is a route of 17 km, conditioned for walking, crossing the Natural Park of Arribes del Duero. The program is managed by public initiative of the Diputación de Salamanca. On the other hand, we have the railway connection from Caceres to Valencia de Alcantara (last Spanish town) that then crosses into Portugal through Marvão-Beirã (first Portuguese station) to Torre das Vargens, where it connects with the route currently in use from Badajoz, through Elvas to main station of Entroncamento. Between the first two Portuguese stations, a private initiative (Rail Bike Marvão) has launched a program to make this 15 km route traversable on pedal-operated platforms on the railway and crossing the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park. This paper analyses both initiatives, identifying their strengths and weaknesses and the strategies employed as examples of good reference practices for similar initiatives, in order to identify key aspects which will be part of the criteria that the authors want to define as the initial phase of a methodology for the application of decision-making techniques in the management of these kind of assets.

Abstract: The existing decision problems in urban planning, which have an influence on the sustainable urban development, are designated in this research. Factors are defined: the internal environment, a role, the relations and interrelations, a legal framework and institutional structure which need to be considered at decision-making in the course of urban planning. The formal model combining current scientific approaches for decision-making which can be applied to assessment of factors and adoption of the reasonable decision is offered. The mathematical model of the multicriteria choice of the best solution at fuzzy initial information is described. An example of finding of the best solution is reviewed.

Abstract: Nowadays application and development of cognitive graphic tools for the usage in intelligent system of data and knowledge analysis, decision-making and its justification for different problem areas including material research are urgency. Most significantly developed cognitive graphics tools based on n-simplex which are invariant to problem areas are presented. Specificity of program realization of cognitive graphics tools which is invariant to problem areas is described. Most significant results are given and discussed. Future investigations are connected with the usage of new approach to rendering, cross-platform realization, improving cognitive features and expanding n-simplex family

Abstract: Article deals with the possibilities of modelling and simulating in program Extend. It is a simple tool that allows you to model and carry out simulation of specified process to create a good precondition for decision-making. The development of simulation tools and their introduction into industrial practice is the now common practice, particularly in large enterprises. In these turbulent times it is only a matter of time before these virtual tools are commonly used in small businesses.

Abstract: This paper put forward the online safety control decision-making optimization based on operation risk of the grid. The method emphasized on combining with the present situation of the application of the three-defense-line by risk classification. Then new preventive control model based on risk is presented, and the effect to emergency control and corrective control is considered.

Abstract: As a response to the National Army’s planning of all-volunteer military system and maintaining of their combat capability for national defense, the military logistics model choice is one of very important issues. In this paper, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is conducted for selecting an optimal transportation model in the Navy logistics between Taiwan Island and Kinmen Island.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of the evaluation indexes of high sustainable buildings in the developed countries, the evaluation index system of high resilient and sustainable buildings against multi-hazards are established. The decision framework of multi-hazard sustainable buildings is designed in three layers, which integrates the group decision-making theory, the optimization algorithm and the information management technology. It has the important significance for the decision mechanism of multi-hazard sustainable buildings.

Abstract: The paper addresses diversification strategy as a possibility to solve the problem of reduced use of production capacity caused by external factors such as a decline in demand in the core business. On the basis of real case study of a Czech production company the paper presents the methodology for the development of the diversification strategy with the aim of successful penetration to industrial sectors. The whole process is divided in four phases. The first phase is focused on the identification and assessment the production and competitive competences of the company. The second phase deals with the evaluation of potential sector attractiveness and feasibility of entry in the analysed sector. The received results served as a basis for setting a complex evaluation matrix subsequently, which was used to target on the most promising sectors. A detailed survey was carried out, that focused on the selected sectors within the third phase providing a basis for key success factors identification and potential entry scenario projection. The last phase focuses on important aspects of economic efficiency estimation of the entry into the selected industrial sector.

Abstract: One-of-kind production is synonymous with project and thus can use management approaches from project management. The relationship between operations management and project management is briefly discussed and a project execution model with project phases and decision gates is introduced. Decisions are essential in any project as they introduce uncertainty and at the same time is the main tool for controlling the project. Three types of decisions are discussed: select, authorization and plan decisions. Uncertainty leads to risks and opportunities. Three types of risks can be distinguished: operational, strategic and contextual risks. The intersection between these creates a risk triangle within which one can navigate. A framework for project risk navigation contains three components: a governance system, a decision process, and strategic planning.

Abstract: The reason for opening deeper mining horizon is to preserve the volume of extraction, a smooth transition to a new horizon with the intention of mining state of existing stocks. In the proposal of opening will be maintain the current direction of transport (extraction of mineral, haulage of materials, lower) through bank to the existing plant equipment. Alternative proposals for solutions of opening new horizon will be limited to the range of main opening workings (hoisting shaft), including relevant hoisting equipment and objects immediately fasten on it. Other deeper horizon equipment outside the pumping station (filling station, transformer station, depot, level gangway, etc.) will be practically independent on the horizon and will be the same essentially in all cases. The proposal will be considered three alternatives: deepening of a shaft, sinking blind shaft and dip road. The best alternative will be recommended on the basis of the decision-making process.
