Abstract: In the past five years a number of master’s theses have been conducted at Belgian Technical Colleges and Universities to (re)introduce knowledge of aluminium as a structural material, given that courses offered in Belgium are oriented towards steel and concrete design and no specific course on aluminium exists. The present contribution highlights the different subjects covered in these theses and illustrates the results obtained. Emphasis is placed on the methodology used to design and innovate with aluminium, taking into account the Eurocode rules that apply to the design of specific aluminium structures. For this, appropriate use was made of existing software that allows for the detailed calculation of section reduction and unity checks.

Abstract: A cam design and manufacturing simulation system is developed for education. The system consists of some modules which can be easily extended or updated. In the design module, the profile of disc cam is generated by defining some parameters – rise allowable pressure angle; return allowable pressure angle, the radius of curvature of cam profile etc. And the kinematics analysis of cam is also calculated in this module. Then the profile is transferred into CATIA for generating a three dimensional geometry of the cam, and NC program is generated. Last, the NC program is verified by Yulong NC simulation system.

Abstract: Graduates feedback system (GFS) is a graduates-based communication platform that integrates enterprises, universities and graduates. This MIS aims to enhance graduates resource use, improve school education quality and university employment problems. This article was clued with the general development process of MIS. It illustrated the main points and some developing tips in the entire course, named requirement analysis, system design, system development and system implement. Under the aid of a large number of documents collected, and the actual survey, it came up with the advantage and application value of the system compared to the domestic and foreign alumni networks. It is believed that the idea of this MIS will provide a precious reference to education for colleges and universities.

Abstract: Theoretical mechanics education played an important role in developing undergraduates’ knowledge and ability. Test is a main method to measure undergraduates’ theoretical mechanics learning outcomes. Test analysis mainly consists of score analysis and test quality. When judging the quality of a test, item difficulty, item discrimination, reliability and validity should be calculated and analyzed. The test paper of theoretical mechanics was analyzed by SPSS for Windows. The statistic results demonstrated that students have good learning outcomes and the test paper has good quality.

Abstract: MBD (Model Based Definition) technology is a digital method of product definition which combines all information required for manufacturing into the 3D design model including annotation, processing description, attributes and management information. This advancement is a not only a change in media used in the design, manufacturing, inspection and management cycles of the product but also a disruptive reform in engineering-thinking. MBD technology defines a product completely without traditional engineering drawing which is challenging the engineering graphics education. Though MBD technology has not been fully tested or fully developed in all field, change and revolution in relative engineering education must be taken into consideration simultaneously. By comparing the traditional 2D and 3D representation methods with the MBD technology including geometric and non-geometric information of product, some suggestions are presented in contemporary engineering graphics education.

Abstract: Mechanized technology of application of dry building mixes is a separate highly qualified branch of in the field of finishing works. Its effectiveness is determined by the use of special mixes intended for mechanized application method and special equipment designed for their use. An important factor in improving the quality of work is the qualification of construction workers, who use new technologies. Without special training, workers can not realize all the possibilities of modern materials and technology, and therefore will not be achieved economic effect.

Abstract: Due to the differences between the historical background, technological advancement, economic situation and population density between America and China, there are many differences between American and Chinese education systems. One of the differences is the applied technology in web application in education. By comparing the general technological situations in the two countries and the applied technology in web application in online education, web-facilitated education at college level, K-12 level and the developing prospects in the two countries, the article comes to the conclusion that applied technology in web application in American education is much more advanced than that in Chinese education. The web-related infrastructural construction in American educational institutions has almost come to a complete state and now more concern is on how to make full use of all the facilities and technology so as to achieve the best result, while China is still trying hard to make web-related facilities reach all the educational institutions and at the same time searching optimized ways of application. Insufficient financial support, lag in technology and deep-rooted traditional test-oriented teaching philosophy among teachers as well as parents are the greatest obstacles to the widening of applied technology in web application in education in China. Although government have been trying hard to deepen the application of internet technology in education by putting out a series of policies and starting a succession of projects and great progress has already been made and will be achieved, there is still a long way to go before it reach the present state of American applied technology in web application in education. However, to what extent and in what way should China apply internet technology in education should be carefully studied since there are so many cultural differences and national situations between China and America. A lot of research are to be done and the findings of researches already done about applied technology in web application in education world-wide should be learned so as to avoid waste and guarantee efficiency.

Abstract: The aim of this empirical study was to investigate the relevance of social climate in the classroom for improving creativity in secondary school students. We hypothesized the existence of a relationship between the Professional Identity of the teachers (or Professional Self), their social representations of pupils, their affective investment in the future (in terms of Possible Selves) and the relevance they attribute to Creativity. The results seem to confirm our hypothesis.

Abstract: With the every ambitious expanding Strategy 2020 of the European Union, to become the most competitive region globally, generates the urgent need to handle multinational (across national) EU and non EU groups in terms of joint training activities. This paper tries to build a bridge between traditional research in terms of national cultures, primarily between the Hofstede and Trompenaars& Hampden-Turner theory buildings and applied methodology. The applied research tackles some first steps in terms of how this traditional research could be applied in education for engineering and business and economics. Thereby showing opportunities to bring a better learning outcome by avoiding cultural "failures" made obvious by this research. The theoretical framework applies into planning phase, delivery phase and follow up phase of the pedagogical cycle.
