Abstract: When the sliding of the grain boundary containing hexagonal particles is accommodated by grain-boundary diffusion, we evaluate the sliding rate and the stress distribution on the boundary, by taking the particle rotation and the intrinsic boundary viscosity into account. The sliding rate was obtained by the energy-balance method, and the particle-rotation rate by a condition of minimum energy-dissipation. With increasing boundary viscosity, the rotation rate increases and then decreases after a maximum. The sliding rate is enhanced by the particle rotation, and decreases with the boundary viscosity.

Abstract: In view of the defects in the traditional aeolian vibration damping method for transmission line that repeated tests have to be undertaken in addition to the method's marked error, this article analyzed the calculating method for conductor anti-vibration test using the energy balance method, and improved the test method for self-damping characteristic and the design method for arrangement damped wire; improving design efficiency and accuracy. Laboratory simulation test which was carried out in connection with the actual engineering parameters verified the strong applicability of the improved method in vibration damping design.

Abstract: The fracture energy release rate , which is the important parameter of ice pressure calculation model that is built on energy balance method, is the fracture mechanics performance of ice material. It is related with these factors such as ice material temperature T, which must be measured by experiment. It is the experimental method of fracture mechanics used in this paper. These ice specimens on the different thickness T were tested with fracture mechanics method at low-temperature testing machine, to obtain the fracture flexibility change rate of ice body which contains pre-crack and the values of under different conditions of T, which could determine fracture energy release rate of ice body during the ice pressure generated, which provide the necessary experimental data to establish ice layer pressure calculation model for the application of energy balance method.

Abstract: The laboratory landslide test device of three part constituting by the model slotk and the catchment sink and rainfall system is developed according to test requirements, and it carried out to research calibration test of rainfall and correction of rainfall for rainfall systems under laboratory conditions. The calibration results of rainfall shown that the indoor rainfall increases linearly with time if the opening of the water-tap is reasonably controlled and that can ensure stability of the supplying water of the laboratory landslide test. The correction results of rainfall shown that, according to the energy balance method and volume method, the indoor rainfall can be converted the actual rainfall by the energy reduced coefficient in the indoor rainfall conditions and the actual rainfall conditions of the slope, and that ensure requirements of rainfall of laboratory landslide tests corresponding to the actual rainfall.The energy reduced coefficient is determined by landing speed of indoor raindrop and end speed of actual raindrop.
