Abstract: This paper proposes an environmentally friendly energy-saving high-quality laser stamping foil film with particular seam-free feature. The whole idea is to meet the country's high-end anti-counterfeiting technology, consumer products packaging appearance, high-end gifts demand for the target material. The State Quality Supervision and Testing Center (Guangzhou) detection results shows that it includes many merits such as functionality, security, reliability, ease of use, flexibility, stability and other indicators, the performance meets or exceeds the requirements of enterprise technical conditions.

Abstract: Silk sericin, a gumming protein from silk cocoons, has been a considerable natural protein-based biopolymer for fabrication of desired constructs for potential tissue engineering applications. This study investigated the formulation of a novel biopolymeric silk sericin/poly (vinyl alcohol) film with genipin as crosslinking agent and its physical properties. Silk sericin itself forms a fragile material, adding other polymers such as poly (vinyl alcohol) and glycerin, a plasticizer, resulting in a strong and flexible matrix. The results indicated that at higher concentration of genipin (0.1% w/v), the percentages of crosslinking in sericin/poly (vinyl alcohol) films was significantly higher. The matrices also exhibited higher tensile modulus value and higher elasticity at higher genipin concentration which can be inferred to higher integrity of the structure compared to matrices with genipin at low concentration (0.01% w/v). On the other hand, the reverse patterns were found in percentages of light transmission and the releasing profile of sericin from the composite films. Adding genipin into the matrices resulted in a lower percentage of light transmission indicated the increase in opacity. The releasing profile of sericin from the films showed that high genipin concentrations reduced the peak of protein released and trended to provide the sustain-released profile of protein. These findings indicated that silk sericin film can be formed and the concentrations of crosslinking agents really affect its physical properties.

Abstract: The interfacial adhesion between thin film and substrate is often the predominant factor and chief target in determining the performance and reliability of thin film/substrate system. A new technique of laser scratch testing technique has been presented by the authors of the article to characterize the interfacial adhesion between film and substrate, which synthesizes the advantages of traditional scratching technique and laser measure technique. The failure procedure is studied detailedly in the article. On different failure step of the film/substrate system, there are different characteristic s of stress and strain, as well as the characteristic of thermal lensing effect, which can be used as the distinguishing rule of the bonding state of the film/substrate system.

Abstract: Allowing for secondary extinction (SE), a method is described for thickness measurement of thin films by x-ray absorption. The method is tested by employing Al foils and electrodeposited Cu films detached by the substrate. The thicknesses determined by the method were in fair agreement with that ones measured by the ordinary absorption method based on using incident beam intensities. Moreover, a dependence of the SE coefficient on the transmission factor of the films was experimentally shown, and thus additional light was thrown on the nature of SE.

Abstract: The zeolites differ from traditional adsorbents for selective adsorption of small molecules, the high adsorption capacity at low concentrations and affinity for organic compounds and unsaturated polar molecules. In this work a Y-type zeolite was synthesized, characterized by x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and adsorption of nitrogen and subjected to test adsorption capacity where it was found that the Y zeolite has the potential adsorption capacity compared to other materials being studied and marketed.

Abstract: The preparation, characterization, and environmental application of crosslinked porous chitosan films for Acid red (AR) adsorption have been investigated. The adsorbent was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The adsorption experiments were carried out in a batch system to optimize operation variables: contact time, Acid red concentration, temperature, and pH. The results indicated crosslinked porous chitosan films could successfully remove 96% of Acid red. The adsorption equilibrium isotherms showed that the sorption processes were better fitted by Langmuir equation.

Abstract: Semi-crystalline mesoporous titania films were prepared by the reactions of titanium isopropoxide (TTIP) in acidic aqueous solutions containing EO106PO70EO106 triblock copolymer (F127) and 1,3,5-triisopropylbenzene (TIPBz). Adsorption experiments of dye molecules over the mesoporous films calcined at different temperatures and prepared with different TTIP/F127 molar ratios showed that adsorption property of the dye molecules would be related to the crystallinity of the frameworks and the macroporosity at the surfaces.
