Abstract: In recent years, along with spiritual civilization and material civilization as well as the diversified development of design methods, people are urged to have higher demands on aesthetic standard, consumption concept, values and so on. Packaging design has therewith become protean, already broken through from simply protecting goods in the early days, into an extrinsic form of commodity competition. Material is the substantial carrier of packaging. No matter how novel the design originality is and how beautiful the design graph is, it must be realized relying on material. However, many companies or designers overemphasize on luxurious packaging. Not only do the raw materials cost high, they are also hard to recycle, which would eventually bring about influence to our living environment. Therefore, the application of green packaging material is of great urgency.

Abstract: This paper discusses the concept and the latest development of Component Object Technology at first. Then it studies the Component Object Technology for developing Material and Energy Statistical Analysis System(MESAS) with support from software framework in detail. This approach may benefit on software development circles, reduce development costs, and strengthen the transplantation and maintenance as well as achieves software reusability.

Abstract: With increasing import and export volumes of oil products in China, port terminals are under increased pressure to prevent water pollution. The prevention of offshore oil spill accidents, and the remedial and control measures for such accidents are one of the most important aspects of maritime management, and are also major issues for the entire shipping industry. This paper describes different emergency materials and equipment for oil spill management and describes the use of these techniques in domestic and international ports. Suggested changes to port emergency materials and equipment are also described, based on the processing capabilities for oil spills in different situations, combined with the port's environmental characteristics and ecological situation

Abstract: Efforts at utilizing ceramic materials with their undeniably interesting range of properties in automobile manufacture, has persisted for many years. The corrosion resistance, the resistance to oxidation at high temperatures, the capacity of its resistance to wear and the low relative density of these materials make them especially attractive candidates for use in the automotive engine block production. The limitations of ceramics materials in the area of low fracture toughness can be assuaged by using various methods of grain and boundary size strengthening. This paper presents a critical survey of some of the existing materials used in the production of automotive engine block, the existing methods of toughening and strengthening of ceramic composite materials with emphasis on methodologies, strengths and weaknesses.

Abstract: A mathematical model has been developed for predicting material compositional microstructures using measured data as constraints. Examples of measured data include 3-D sets of tomography data, 2-D sets of compositional data on surfaces and sections, and material absorption and interaction properties. The model has been partially implemented as a MS-Windows application. Reasonable agreement has been obtained between the numerical predictions from the software and the simulated data. The predicted microstructures could be used to study various material properties such as porosity distribution, diffusion and corrosion.

Abstract: A long lasting project, quality is priority. The quality directly determines the success of project. The excellence of a building quality is not only the pulchritude of a countrys construction, but also the guarantee of safety of life and wealth. However, due to non-standardizing of construction market and disarray of internal management, the quality accident often occurred. This paper, based on engineering practice in projects, analyzes causes for common construction quality accident from design, materials construction supervision and some other factors, puts forward some typical engineering examples, and offers corresponding preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of construction quality accident.

Abstract: A method for material fragmentation based on Lagrangian FEM with the concept of nodes separation is proposed. This method is consisted of nodes separation mechanism and elements distortion erosion. In the simulation the nodes of failure elements are separated to form crack and distorted elements are detected and eliminated to prevent singularity. Nodes separation method can greatly improve the energy loss disadvantage in the failure erosion method. Based on LS-dyna secondary development the method is implemented. Hypervelocity impact problem of satellite protective structure is simulated and compared to experimental data for calibration. The performance of multi layer aluminum mesh shield under hypervelocity impact is also evaluated. The results show the high efficiency and applicability of nodes separation method in practical problems.

Abstract: A method for mechanics analysis of bar structure materials has been presented in the paper. The method is based on the theory of kinematics, dynamics, and programming techniques. After deriving of relevant equations, detail analysis about positions, velocities, accelerations, and angles, angular velocities, angular accelerations of bars as well as other parameters relevant to bar structure materials to be searched can be obtained in the paper. Relationships between various parameters and variables of bar structures have been derived according to different working states of bars. The method put forward in the paper is a feasible and high efficient method for mechanics analysis of bar structure materials in the design of mechanism.

Abstract: The materials transportation system with storage bin is widely used in mines, power plants, material yards, and etc. Bin capacity size has great influence on reliability and production efficiency of whole materials transportation system. By utilizing some existing outcomes, this paper presents a new reliability and cost-benefit integrated optimization model about storage bin capacity in materials transportation system. Compared with some existed references, this presented model fully considers different influences of storage bin capacity on reliability and production efficiency of whole materials transportation system and realizes reliability, cost and benefit overall optimization decision. All kind of factors affecting designed storage bin capacity can be easily gotten by the presented model. In addition this paper also presents a set of detailed reliability and cost-benefit integrated optimization formulas about storage bin capacity in materials transportation system. These can offer the reference for capacity decision design computing of storage bin in materials transportation system.
