Abstract: Digital image correlation (DIC) is a kind of non-contact strain measurement method. It could provide deformation information of a specimen by processing two digital images that are captured before and after the deformation. the application of DIC method in performance testing and evaluation of new materials has great superiority over the traditional methods in the aspects that help to explore the features of new materials, such as mechanical performance, deformation mechanism and dynamic and static performance[1-. Tensile test of 8mm steel plate based on DIC is introduced in this paper, this test is easy operated and high accuracy. It can not only get all the data that traditional method done, but also reflect the full range strain, strain history and strain rate. It can also transform the result among different type strain. The experiments based on DIC method of medium and heavy plate can help to learn the properties of material like this kind much more comprehensively, reduce testing time and promote the wide application of new material in manufacturing.

Abstract: It commences that optimize and design the billet of the medium slab, analyzes various factors that influence plate yield, and proposes the method of the reasonable billet design. Then it anticipates each shift team production plans according to each reasonable combination of the different billet. It is based on the spot production experience of plate, and guarantees the safety of equipments, with attainment of high yield, to optimize design of plate deformation. It imitates calculation the microstructure organization of the medium plate after rolling and cooling by means of researching on the rule of austenite recrystallization. The calculation of the rolling power adopts to consider the variety of the recrystallization in austenite the correction function, improve the accuracy forecast of power and energy. The simulation and calculated results will be showed by means of tabular form or graphic formats.

Abstract: In medium plate rolling, the calculation and setting of roll gap value considered not only insufficient austenite recrystallization effect on rolling force, but also coupling of bend elastically and rolling force; and based on combining pre-pressure force and local measurement could get the modal of roll gap value setting and prediction. The result indicated that the prediction of roll gap value is accord with measurement value, it can increase the production quality and hit rate of close-tolerance in medium plate rolling by means of the modal as the method to controlling dimensional accuracy.

Abstract: A 3-D thermal-mechanical model was built to simulate the hot rolling process of medium plate, with the aid of nonlinear commercial FE code MSC.SuperForm on a company's actual process parameters. The hot rolling process of single-pass which slab thickness is 180mm was simulated, and the influence of pass reduction on metal flow, stress-strain field, contact stress and rolling force were researched. The study revealed that pass reduction should be at least 20% by increase depress in pass in addition to rolling efficiency. As that, rolling efficiency be increased, roll contact stress be brought down, and its service life be prolonged. And metal plastic strain enhanced, metal flow increased, but its strain field non-uniformly distributed, metal flow and plastic deformation would be strengthen by increase pass reduction, and the lateral broadening in the head is bigger than that in the tail.

Abstract: The three-dimensional unsteady model of the side blowing of high-density pipe cooling equipment is calculated by the finite element method. The effects of different jet velocity, the nozzle height and spray angle on the side blowing are analyzed. And the temperatures of the plate under various conditions are studied. The results provide theoretical basis for the improvement of the cooling device.

Abstract: The slab design, which has direct effect on the yield rate of steel and the productivity of mill in the production of medium plate, is an important neck of the medium plate production. Therefore, for the slab design of medium plate production, all of the factors which will influence yield and production efficiency should be taken into account, such as how to determine the rolling system, the broadening rate, the compression rate; the limited dimension conditions of machine; the sheared residuce and the burning loss. And then, it combines the indents and different specification of on-site finished product to design the slab of medium plate.

Abstract: The paper is in the context of a plate milling system in Baosteel. Extracting the rolling data of plate, and according to the different order of plates out-stove, by determining the contiguous plates out-stove time interval and calculating the rolling time, we could judge the arrangement plan of manufacture plan in a roll changing period to achieve optimize mill pacing. On this basis, the paper puts forward a calculation method of the contiguous plates out-stove time, and proposes a series of suggestions to optimize the manufacture plan. It provides helpful practical experience to the mill pacing research.
