Abstract: According to the characteristics of radial tire technological process, a new type of tire building drum was proposed. The kinematics analysis was carried out based on the systematical study on the structure and working principle of this mechanism. And on this basis, taking passenger car tire for example, the three-dimensional solid model of the tire building drum was established, and the kinetic simulation was performed by Solidworks software. The result of simulation shows that the tire building drum proposed, with inside-outside alternating supporting shells moving smoothly, is of simple construction and can realize a great radial expansion ratio, and improve the quality and efficiency of tire building and unloading. This study can also provide reference for the innovative design of new tire building drum.

Abstract: The paper first demonstrates some relevant concepts with virtual maintenance, and further discusses the concepts and connotations of virtual maintenance. As the key techniques, virtual maintenance model and simulation method are studied in the paper. Virtual maintenance model (VMM) is present, and the model is based on Petri Net and can describe the relations of maintenance resources. In addition, virtual maintenance simulation rules are built in the paper. Finally, a case study of the LRU repair of an aircraft is conducted, and the result confirms the validation and feasibility of all the studies, which can become a new technique means for maintainability engineering.

Abstract: Virtual maintenance technique brings new mode for system maintainability design and analysis, however, the theory of virtual maintenance is not fully studied and researches are deficiency in the key field of virtual maintenance modeling and simulation. So virtual maintenance model and simulation control method are studied in the paper. Virtual maintenance model is based on Petri Net and can describe the relations of maintenance resources, and the model structure, formal definition, maintenance object, resource state and model operation are given. In addition, virtual maintenance simulation rules and simulation scheduling method are built in the paper. Simulation scheduling objective, flow and conflict features of maintenance process simulation are analyzed, and conflict strategies are addressed subsequently. Finally, a case study of the LRU repair of an aircraft is conducted, and the result confirms the validation and feasibility of all the studies, which can become a new technique means for maintainability engineering.

Abstract: Biped robot with heterogeneous legs (BRHL) can simulate amputees dressed with intelligent above/knee (A/K) prosthesis and can be used to evaluate intelligent prosthesis (IP) performance. First the concept of virtual prototype technology and BRHL is introduced. Then virtual prototypes of BRHL mechanical system, ground environment, perception and control system are established. In the end, the continuously walking simulation of BRHL based on virtual prototype is done. The research indicates that virtual prototype modeling based on Pro/E, ADAMS and MATLAB/Simulink is feasible.

Abstract: Virtual Reality (VR) technology allows the animation of machining operations. The kinematic of the machining operation and the geometry of the parts are allocated prevalently to VR using the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). In order to visualize the machining operation close to reality, the chip formation process needs to be animated as well. This paper presents the virtual reality animation of external cylindrical turning considering the chip formation and the results of the machining operation, such as the process forces. The chips are described numerically using JavaScript which is embedded into the VRML. The JavaScript accesses in addition to an experimentally generated database in order to display the results of the machining operation. The turning operation is visualized both in a non-immersive graphic user interface and an immersive Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE).

Abstract: This virtual system, which is based on virtual manufacturing and NC processing technique for NC milling, is developed by Visual C++6.0. The system can edit, check and debug the NC programs to realize the 3D dynamic simulation of machining processes and collision-checking during cutting processes.
