Abstract: The wear behavior of stator rubber in the natural medium of crude oil in oil-drilling screw pumps directly matters to its service life and sealing property. The premature failure of stator rubber is the main cause for the shortening life of screw pumps. In order to study the wear mechanism of NBR and FPM, a friction wear test was conducted at room temperature by using a MPV-600 micro-computer-controlling grain-abrasion testing machine, in which NBR, FPM and 45# steal pair are the testing subjects. SEM was afterwards employed to observe the surface topography before and after the rubber wear. The test result shows that at the constant low load, the wear extent of FPM increases in a stable, linear way when the rotor rotating speed increases, and the wear extent of NBR increases with the increasing speed of the rotor rotating speed. However, when the rotating speed is over 400r/min, the wear extent of NBR decreases instead. This might be attributed to the improvement of the local lubrication state on the friction surface. Much consistence is indicated in the changing rule of the friction coefficient of the two types of rubber and the changing wear extent with the rotating speed. At the constant, low rotating speed, the wear extent of NBR and FPM basically increases linearly, while the friction coefficient of NBR, FPM and steel pair decreases with the increasing load.

Abstract: This paper deals with the control of the adhesion strength in metal-elastomer joints by fillers and the use of rubber blends to produce advanced high performance adhesive systems. The curing behavior of rubber compounds and dynamic mechanical properties of crosslinked rubber composites were considered in this technologically applicable study. The effects of two types of reinforcing filler, used to increase the adhesion strength between steel and rubber matrix based on acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) and chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber (CSM) was investigated. Precipitated silica (with the average size of primary particle 15 nm) and diatomaceous earth (with the average size of primary particle 28 µm) were used for both rubber and its blend (NBR/CSM). The filler loading range was from 0 to 35 phr. The determination of curing characteristics was estimated by Monsanto Rheometer. The crosslink density of the rubber composites was determined by swelling measurement. Dynamic mechanical behavior was measured by mechanical spectroscopy (in a single cantilever bending mode).

Abstract: Select two types of nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) which they are different in ingredients, under two types of crude oil medium respectively, the test is carried out on the friction testing machine. The test result shows that under the constant intermediate-low rotate speed and constant temperature, the friction coefficient decreases as the load increases; under the constant intermediate-low load and constant temperature, the friction coefficient increases as the rotate speed increases.

Abstract: This paper analyzed the fracture of the tearing NBR 5621 samples under 500mm/min which had been respectively aged for 24 hours at the temperature of -45 °C, 25°C, 70°C and 120°C. It investigated the fracture characteristic of the tearing samples of NBR, which is flat and on it there are some step faceting. The fracture mechanism was also analyzed. The discussion illustrated that the ageing temperature influences the fracture appearance and has little effect on the fracture strength.

Abstract: Based on the nitrile rubber accelerated life tests, using the stress relaxation coefficient changes as the aging performance indicators, the relationship between NBR’s stress relaxation and aging time was given ,and also the NBR’s aging dynamic equation was established to predict of the material’s storage life in the normal storage temperature and storage time ,which can be used as reference to predicte NBR’s storage life .

Abstract: The wear to orthogonal metals of NBR is the main cause of affecting the endurance of ESPCP. The rotational speed, load and temperature are main influence factors of the wear of 45 steel. The BP neural network model used in the forecast of the 45 steel wear volume was established. The 45 steel wear volume was obtained using friction and wear machine under different experimental parameters. The wear volumes of different experimental parameters were forecasted using BP neural network. The results indicate that it is feasible to forecast the rotational speed, load and temperature to 45 steel wear volume.

Abstract: The composites composed of PVC, NBR and BaSO4 particles were prepared by melt blending method. The mechanical properties, microstructure and thermal stability of the composites were investigated. The results indicated that the elongation at break of PVC was greatly improved by addition of NBR, while the tensile strength was decreased. The elongation at break and the tensile strength of PVC/NBR composites first increased and then decreased with the increasing content of BaSO4, and the maximum were emerged at 5phr BaSO4 addition. The initial decomposition temperature of the composites composed of PVC, NBR and BaSO4 is 10.79°C greater than that of the composites composed of PVC and NBR. The scanning electron microscopy photograph showed that NBR and BaSO4 particles were uniformly dispersed in the PVC matrix when the addition of NBR and BaSO4 particles was low.

Abstract: The fabrication of dry type conducting polymer actuator was presented. In the preparation of actuator system, nitrile rubber (NBR) was used as a base material of the solid polymer electrolyte. Thin films of NBR (150-200μ m) were prepared by compression molding process. The conducting polymer, poly (3,4- ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was synthesized on the surface of NBR by chemical oxidation polymerization technique, and the room temperature ionic liquid, 1-ethyl-3- methylimidazolium bis (trifluoromethyl sulfonyl) imide (EMITFSI) was introduced into the composite film. The ionic conductivity of new type solid polymer electrolyte as a function of the immersion time and the cyclic voltammetry responses and the redox switching dynamics of PEDOT in NBR/ionic liquid solid polymer electrolyte were studied. The displacement of actuator was measured by laser beam radiation.

Abstract: The preparation method of low-temperature resistance nitrile-butadiene rubber coat-metal sealing gasket was introduced. The type and the dosage of curing agent, reinforcing agent and other additives were considered, the optimum technological factor was determined. Use of such nitrile-butadiene rubber coat-metal sealing gasket, its low temperature resistance and oil resistance were good enough for the seals which work at -40 -160 .

Abstract: The wear mechanisms of different graphite contents of NBR by 45# steel under dry sliding and water lubrication were investigated. On MPV-600 computer-controlled abrasive wear testing machine, the coefficients of friction were measured continuously. Results showed that under dry sliding condition, the rubber wear loss is big, the coefficient of friction is higher, the temperature of the friction surface is rise obviously. Wear loss and friction coefficient of NBR decrease with the increase of graphite contents; With the increase of graphite contents wear loss and the friction coefficient decreases, and is mainly due to the graphite lubrication performance and increase the stiffness of the rubber contact area. At low content of graphite, adhesive wear of NBR is showed, in the high content of graphite, abrasive wear is showed. Water lubrication condition, wear surface level off, the wear loss is very small, and the lubrication and cooling effect of water makes the friction coefficient decrease. Graphite content is higher, the wear loss and coefficient of friction is smaller.
