Abstract: The process control system for tandem cold mill is the core of the production line control system. Its operating status influences the stable production of strip directly. In this paper a tandem cold rolling process control system of cold-rolled sheet plant was taken as an object, the structural framework of control system was designed, the composition and function was introduced.

Abstract: One of the common problems in forging processes is the lack of key process parameters control, as well as their identification. Certain controlled parameters exist, such as temperature or stroke length, which are usually identified and controlled through a systematic approach. Their selection depends particularly on the part to produce or on customer’s constraints, rather than a rational approach. In this paper, a methodology is proposed to select the key process parameters. There are some methodologies which already exist, such as the DMAIC, which are used to determine the control parameters and their influences on the desired specifications. However, this approach has certain drawbacks. For example, the key parameters are selected by experts, which makes each case study time consuming. The aim is to develop a generic methodology to improve the manufacturing process in the forging industry. The methodology is represented as a decision support system that connects product specifications (geometry, absence of defects…) or other forging specifications (tool wear, involved energy...) to the process parameters. The latter will be able to define the key parameters, their values and their appropriate way of control. These links will be setup using the empirical rules and physical laws.

Abstract: This paper designs web-based USB 1-N wireless I/O modules embedded sequential controller. The controller consists of ARM-based core system, a set of USB 1-N wireless I/O data acquisition modules, and sequential control software. The ARM-based core system running Linux operation system forms the basic hardware/software foundation of the controller. The set of USB devices used as I/O interface (sensor and actuator) of thecontroller. With the use of RF chip, the USB I/O is cascaded by wireless 1-N channel such that multiple data acquisition modules can communicate with the controller by a USB port. The device driver of the USB set for the ARM-base Linux system is developed. The sequential control software is designed as client/server structure. The server-side program and client-side program communicate through the Internet. The server-side control program, mainly a PLC interpreter, is an application developed in C++ in the Linux system. The client-side control program is developed in Java and put under a web server of the controller such that the program can be easily deployed by network and run in remote computer. The client program is also used as GUI of the controller.

Abstract: This paper presents an internet-based remote laboratory for process control on double holding water tanks using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) technology. A three layer distributed system supporting web application was proposed. Programmable logic controller, measurement instruments, display instruments and configuration software were used as the main hardware and software to develop the laboratory system. Remote operations by the engineering students show that the laboratory system is useful in helping the students understand the control theory through remote experiments.

Abstract: This paper introduces a novel on-line real-time monitoring system for acidic emission produced by acid pickling, which has been one of the greatest contaminant and major harness content. The system can monitor the HCL concentration in exhaust fumes on-line, and realize the real-time analysis and transmission of the acquisition data. HCL wet chemical sampling system form the whole on-line monitoring system. HCL wet chemical sampling system consists of integrated air velocity transducer, chloride ion analyzer, wet chemical sampling device and liquid level measurement device. It aims to collect HCL fog sample and convert the sampling analogue signal to digital data that can be analyzed. The system overcomes the influence by high temperature, high humidity and high concentration of dust. It realizes the monitoring, storage, analysis, warning and transmission of HCL concentration data in the exhaust. It is beneficial in practical industrial field and environmental protection.

Abstract: Tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH) has wide applications in semiconductor industry, including photoresist development, silica etching (especially Sigma etching), and wafer cleaning, etc. One of the critical areas of the photolithography process is the development of unexposed (negative) or exposed (positive) photoresists without pattern distortion. As a metal free, basic aqueous solution, TMAH is the most common positive photoresist developer providing no metal contaminations. The bath composition, especially the concentration of TMAH, is strictly controlled within the process specifications (~2.2 to 2.4 % (w/w)), since it greatly affects the developing rate and contrast [1]. Traditional monitoring of TMAH concentration does not suffice for the modern needs of a sub-20 nm IC fabrication process. Additional critical parameters include dissolved carbonate and proprietary surfactants.

Abstract: Electrospinning is kind of unique craft to fabricate nanoscale fiber in the condition of high-voltage electric field. However, due to the nanoscale diameter manufacturing, it is a challenge to get the whole manufacturing process stable at certain level. For that sake, this paper figures out the monitor method for the electrospinning equipment, which solves the former matter as well as makes the fiber generating process in control. According to the method, CCD camera is put forward to make the detection of the Taylor cone image continuously, while pattern recognition algorithm is used to real-time monitor the shape and size of Taylor cone which indicate the stable process of electrospinning. In order to get the stable Taylor cone shape, the processing result is used as feedback signal for control system of the electrospinning equipment to coordinate the feeding module or power supply module. As a result, the problem of nonuniformity and uncontrollable about electrospinning has been solved effectively; what's more, experiments testify that this method is reliable and effective.

Abstract: Mechanisms of the distortion of deep excavation in soft clay are recommended on the beginning. Plane FEA method is combined with back-analysis from displacement on this paper to establish a dynamic prediction system of the distortion of deep excavation, which is proved to be viable by practice. Combining with the idea of process control, a process control model of the distortion of deep excavation is established on this paper. It is divided into three parts: advance control, observation and dynamic prediction, process control in the construction.
