Abstract: The combined AC+DC distribution network in this study provides a coupling and decoupling strategy of renewable energy in DC mode by using zig-zag transformer, which makes each line transmit AC electrical power and DC power simultaneously. The proposed scheme is digitally simulated with the help of Simulink software package. Simulation results indicate lower line voltage drop and less active and reactive power loss in steady state; almost similar or even better transient effects in transient state, which demonstrates the feasibility of combined AC+DC distribution network of single line interconnected with renewable energy.

Abstract: Iran is the land of miraculous energy types including wide range of renewable types of energy. In spite of these potentials however, little use has so far been made of these energy types mainly due to unfamiliarity and lack of scientific and technological dominance, and also the absence of necessary funds for conducting respective projects and plans. The most important reason behind this negligence is the lack of an independent and comprehensive law for clean energies, which serves as a firm support for development and usage of new energy types while possessing adequate implementation guarantee. Once formulated, the law becomes indispensable and is expected to remove and eliminate all the existing defects in the society and help improve the international policies and programs aimed at the global sustainable development using clean energies. Since the existing clean energy laws in Iran are so scattered and just imply this important subject in one or two simple clauses, this article seeks to identify the shortcomings and determine the need to formulate an independent legal framework, which responds to the current social needs, via a comparative study of the laws and regulations regarding clean energies in Germany, Italy, China and Iran, which indicates the legal status of the issue in these countries.

Abstract: With significant penetration of renewable energy sources in distribution networks, the voltage control method may have to be revised especially during the light load condition. This paper presents a coordinated voltage control strategy to address this issue. A mixed-integer nonlinear optimal power flow was formulated and solved by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). All system constraints and operating limits are considered. The code was written using DigSILENT programming language (DPL) and implemented inside DigSILENT power factory simulation software. The proposed method can minimize generation curtailment to prevent overvoltage at any buses. A realistic distribution network was adopted to demonstrate the systems’ effectiveness. Simulation results show that all security constraints are maintained within operating limit. Power losses at the same time are minimized in comparison to the losses using the classical control method.

Abstract: Farming and agro-industrial waste can represent a resource when destined to energy production and they can contribute to reduce greenhouse gas emission, to improve energetic efficiency and increase renewable energies. 6 stations are already working in Calabria for agro-zootechnical biomasses and agro-industrial waste transformation, in compliance with 91/676/CEE, Nitrates Directive, then D.L. 152/99 and D.M. 7 April 2006, redefined by D.M. 6-7-2012 It reduced incentives, with the aim of implementing small sized stations powered by recyclable byproducts, which are easier to manage especially in the form of consortium by medium and small sized companies that would otherwise be excluded from the market. An appropriate use of pruning waste would also mean turning a problem into an opportunity if, instead of burning it and producing high levels of CO2 (as forbidden by D.L. “terra dei fuochi”) it could be destined to produce a new kind of power source, biochar, with a carbon negative function. Concerning the market of carbon credits derivable from pruning waste and from the production of more than 130.000 t of biochar (which, differently from the forestry sector, hasn’t been accepted in farming yet), the potential wealth on the regional territory could vary from 5 to 11 million € according to the set price. Establishing a more competitive and sustainable source of energy is one of the most important challenges that our Country has to face today. This sector plays a key role in the economic development of the Country, not only as a distinctive feature of low cost energy production, limited impact on environment and high utilization, but also as an element of growth per se, with a boost in ecologic economy thanks to a predominant use of renewable resources, recycling and curbing domestic or industrial waste, according to Green Economy parameters.

Abstract: Using double-network, double-machine technology, the hardware framework of the energy management system is designed. The software framework scheme is proposed according to different layers. By designing graph, report, alarm, database management, man-machine interface and privilege subsystems on supporting platform, various services are presented. The proposed energy management system integrated many automation systems, such as Distribution Automation system, Advanced Metering Infrastructure and so on. The senior application functions of the energy management system are introduced. Adopting smart grid technology, the proposed scheme provides a new solution to better manage, use, save and monitor energy especially renewable energy. Because of its obvious advantages in enhancing energy efficiency, the introduced energy management system is expected to be widely used in low-carbon community.

Abstract: As a renewable energy, wind power is considered to be an important non-exhaustible energy in the times of energy crisis. Therefore, in electric power system, wind turbine generators have become important generation alternatives. As wind power penetration increases, power forecasting is crucially important for integrating wind power into a conventional power grid. A short-term wind farm power output dynamic prediction model is presented using RBF neural network with error discriminant function. Based on the wind data from a wind farm in Inner Mongolia of China, a power forecasting map is illustrated, and the errors of the model are analyzed to present the differences between dynamic model and conventional prediction model.

Abstract: BEE project is a category of complicated and systematic engineering in construction industry, not only concerned with alleviation of energy shortage pressure and melioration of residential conditions, but also related to both sustainable development of low carbon society and promotion of circular economy. Three main parts including green building, renewable and clean energy technologies and environmental protection are analyzed and studied in a holistic way. In general, energy-saving technologies and energy management pattern have been researched in detail based on general building energy efficiency theory, so as to effectively promote building energy-efficient application system.

Abstract: Tidal energy is a kind of new energy which is both renewable and pollution-free so that the tidal power generation is increasingly popular in the world. This paper is with respect to the current situation and prospects of development to the tidal power generation at home and abroad, from which it is realized that countries around the world set out the exploitation and utilization of tidal power generation as early as last century by carrying out a great quantity of research and practice, and building numerous tidal power generation stations. As we all know, water turbine generating units are absolutely necessary for tidal power generation. So this paper also refers to the water turbine generating units used in some tidal power generation stations and briefly presents their characteristics as well.

Abstract: The air contain very low density of energy, as a result the complex 3D shape blade is required for maximize the energy extraction. The blades of the wind turbine will suffer the tough nature environment. The complex 3D shape blade with thick composite layers creates unique challenge for the design and structure analysis. The equivalent property of a composite layer that contains multiple plies of laminates is often used in the analysis of the thick composite structures. This study focused on a methodology to calculating the equivalent material properties on the 3D blade with thick composite layers. The research applies reverse engineering method to sample the blade material in order to get the equivalent material properties of complex composite 3D blade. By doing this, an equivalent material properties of composite blade can be used in the finite element analysis. The result can also provide a guide line for stress and fatigue design of blade.
