Abstract: Through integrating air dispersion model, Geographical Information System (GIS) spatial analysis and Population Dasymetric Mapping Model (PDMM), we firstly conducted high-resolution simulations of air pollution concentration and population spatial distribution. Then, a method for Assessing Population Relative Risks of Air Pollution Exposure (MAPRRAPE) was proposed and implemented for spatial zoning of population exposure to SO2 at various levels by taking Tarrant County as a case. The results show that the population exposure to SO2 for Tarrant County in 2000 detected by air pollution concentration method obviously differs from those produced by MAPRRAPE. While the results disclose the defect of the air pollution concentration based population exposure (e.g., Non-inhabit areas with high SO2 concentration are usually misrecognized with high population exposure), it thereby conversely confirms the significance of MAPRRAPE in decision making for preventing and controlling regional air pollution exposure.

Abstract: Transferring plays an important role between different lines of urban rail transport and routine public transit. The convenience of a transfer station not only directly affects the efficiency of the whole traffic network, but also is a key factor that influences travel convenience. Based on GIS, through the study of the convenience at the 16 subway transfer stations in Beijing, the article tries to find the relationship of the evaluations on the transferring between metro-metro and metro-bus. Finally, by further clustering analysis on the spatial distributions of the transferring evaluations, this article reveals the existing problems of the layout of transfer stations and proposes several effective suggestions and countermeasures for them.

Abstract: The research of minesecondary resource comprehensive utilization and industrialization are afreshconcerned about resource development and environmental protection. According tothe problems in current resource development and utilization of Hebei, thepaper firstly carries out the research on mine secondary resource comprehensiveutilization technologies,then manages survey result by means of GIS, and further more uses space position toanalyze and visualize traditional structured data, more intuitional thanbefore. We can also inquire about iron mine anywhere, retrieve eligibleinformation according to amount of iron tailing or name and show itsdistribution on map. In addition, we can extract deep-seated information; exertphenomenon’s distribution, law of development and correlations, so as toprovide decision support for iron tailing’s comprehensive utilization.

Abstract: This paper analyses the impact of unexpected diesel tank leak in the non-normal conditions on groundwater, on the basis of a detailed analysis of hydrogeological conditions of a power plant, using the analytical method of solute transport in groundwater,combining with the DTM module of MapGIS spatial analysis. The results show that if leakage of diesel tank lasts 5 years, the maximum influence range of pollution halo is 0.204 km2 and the farthest impact distance is 660m.

Abstract: Emergency geographic information service is based on all kinds of spatial information, and it is used for scientific dynamic analysis, judgment, forecast and risk assessment of emergency events. It is as the ‘console’ of the whole emergency command platform decision-making and it is also the presupposition and basis to realize the emergency management, emergency decision-making, command and space planning. This paper first analyzes the development tendency of emergency geographic information service platform at home and abroad, then introduces the software architecture and technology system of emergency geographic information service platform. It focuses on the emergency 3D moving target management, emergency information integration fusion, emergency information service management, and other key technologies.

Abstract: After a comprehensive review on the exploitation of information technology in geotechnical engineering and underground engineering, a concept of digital underground space and engineering (DUSE) is proposed. Research results show that DUSE is an innovative new information platform for the life cycle of underground space and engineering. DUSE is also a digital museum of the underground space and engineering. By employing the concept, the method and the techniques provided in DUSE, a more realistic and transparent underground space and engineering could be built; huge amount of data could be easily managed and effectively visualized. Therefore, useful information of these data can be processed, improving working efficiency and promoting the implementation of intelligent decision about the engineering project. In addition, some research topics that need to be further addressed are also discussed.

Abstract: After making deep analysis of the geospatial data organization mode, data clipping, data extraction, data mosaic of terrain original data, which are based on geospatial database theories such as ArcGis, GeoDataBase, are studied in detail. This research, beneficial for sharing and inter-operation of spatial information, makes it possible the realization of the three-dimensional visualization in Yuntai Mountain area of Jiaozuo.
