Abstract: Static balancing of a mechanical system can be regarded as the total or partial cancellation of the mechanical effects (force or moment) of static loads to the actuating system of it, in all configurations, respectively in a finite number of configurations, from functioning domain, under quasi-static conditions. Active balancing is taking into consideration the variation of static loads during the functioning of mechanical systems. As a consequence the active balancing requires an adaptive controlling system and a dynamic model of mechatronic system. In this article, some aspects of the active static balancing problem of mechanical systems are surveyed.

Abstract: In order to understand the overall mechanical characteristics of a steel-concrete composite box girder bridge, static and dynamic tests were carried out. According to the results of tests and calculations, its bearing capacity and working performance were evaluated. The results show that the stress and deformation at control cross-section of the bridge meet design requirements under the static load, the vibration frequency and impact coefficient consistent with the theoretical calculation results under the dynamic load.

Abstract: The three-dimensional solid modeling is built based on some Automobile gearbox Product, the dangerous working conditions of static load are analyzed. On the basis of ADAMS, transient dynamic loads of gearbox at different working gears are found out. The finite element analysis modeling of gearbox casing is built. The static displacement and the stress distribution of gearbox casing are obtained, and the static strength and stiffness are evaluated. The eigenvalues of vibration of gearbox casing are solved, the coupling relationship of the excitation frequency and the gearbox casing natural frequency is analyzed. Based on the transient dynamic analysis of gearbox casing at the first gear and the reverse gear, the evaluations of the dynamic strength and dynamic stiffness are obtained and the weak position of structure is found out, which provides the beneficial information for the further study on the design of the fatigue and reliability of gearbox casing.

Abstract: Aim of this article is in presentation of results of dynamic tests of round timber bolted connections with slotted in steel plates. Multicyclic dynamic (fatigue) tests in tension were made with round timber joints on pulsator INSTRON in laboratory of ITAM CAS Prague. Results of laboratory tests have been statistically evaluated and completed with graphical records of deformation response to loading.

Abstract: Mechanical and electric loads are considered for 2-d crack problems in conducting piezoelectric materials. The electric displacement in conducting piezoelectric materials is influenced by the electron density and it is coupled with the electric current. The coupled governing partial differential equations (PDE) for stresses, electric displacement field and current are satisfied in a local weak-form on small fictitious subdomains. Nodal points are spread on the analyzed domain and each node is surrounded by a small circle for simplicity. Local integral equations are derived for a unit function as the test function on circular subdomains. All field quantities are approximated by the moving least-squares (MLS) scheme.

Abstract: The cryogenic performance of two commercially available SiC power MOSFETs are presented in this work. The devices are characterised in static and dynamic tests at 10 K intervals from 20-320 K. Static current-voltage characterisation indicates that at low temperatures threshold voltage, turn-on voltage, on-state resistance, transconductance, and the body diode turn-on voltage all increase while saturation current decreases. Dynamic, 60 V, 3A switching tests within the cryogenic chamber are also reported and the trends of switching speed, losses, and total power losses, which rise at low temperature, are presented. Overall, both MOSFETs are fully operable down to 30 K with both positive and negative changes in behaviour.

Abstract: Structural Health Monitoring is becoming an increasingly common tool to obtain the long-term performance of infrastructures and buildings. Many structural health monitoring systems were developed and applied to different bridges in the world. However, very little is known on the applications in extreme cold environment. Fu Sui Bridge, a 1070 m variable cross-section continuous box-girder bridge, is located in the coldest province -- Heilongjiang province, China. In order to monitor the static and dynamic responses of the bridge under the traffic and environmental variation, a long-term continuous monitoring system was designed and installed on Fu Sui Bridge in April 2012. A hydrostatic leveling system was used to measure the displacement and fiber Bragg grating sensors were used to measure strain, acceleration and temperature. Moreover, other necessary components including data acquisition and transmission, data calculation and analysis software are also described. Summer and winter monitoring data are also presented. This paper focuses on: (1) the design and installation of the long-term continuous monitoring system hardware and (2) the operating pattern and function of the automatic monitoring system. After more than one year successful conducting, the system has provided a large amount of data records for daily management and research of the bridge. This system can be applied to extremely cold region.

Abstract: By analyzing the application of the battery, the battery voltage monitoring system, lower computer and host computer communication system, and host computer visualization VB6.0 monitoring with battery group platform are designed based on multi-channel multi-MCU and the PC-based interactive respectively. In addition, the corresponding softwares are designed to achieve optimization of static and dynamic parameters matching. Practice has proved that the design has a fairly value for further perfecting the optimization of the battery matching.

Abstract: This paper aims at determination of mechanical properties of 28 years old concrete with various nondestructive and destructive testing methods. All investigated parameters were determined on drilled cores with diameter 79.8 mm gained from existing bridge. On these samples Schmidt rebound testing and destructive force loading test were performed. Static (from loading test) and dynamic (measured by ultrasonic device) modulus of elasticity was also measured. The evaluation of destructive and nondestructive testing was according to the Czech Standards. Testing of old concrete from real structures is important especially prior to the reconstruction, strengthening or repair of the structure, when the structural engineer needs to know the characteristics. The compressive strength measured destructively on cylinders achieved average value 28 MPa, while the Schmidt rebound hammer test showed strength 44 MPa. The average value of static modulus of elasticity was 26 GPa.
