Abstract: In this paper, we designed a prototype of powered above-knee prosthesis. Compared with other prototypes available in the literature, our designed prosthetic leg employs a redundant actuator concept to overcome the challenge faced by the single-motor transmission systems. The redundant actuator also enables the prosthesis to be partially functional when the prosthesis loses power. Finally, in order to provide optimal control parameters for designed above-knee prosthesis to perform a smooth level-ground walking task, an inverse dynamic model based on Kane’s method is constructed.

Abstract: Based on multi-body Dynamics theory, the 1/4 multi-rigid model of double wishbone suspension of automobile in ADAMS/View is created, and use ANSYS software to analyze torsion beam flexibility. Furthermore, the rigid-flexibility model has been created and the rigid change of suspension line along with the tire dynamics change is simulated. The result shows that the rigid-flexible coupling model is more accuracy than the multi-rigid one and fits the practical situation even better. This paper proposes an efficient method for analyzing the rigid of double-wishbone suspension vertical line.

Abstract: This paper introduced a novel actuator constructed by a flexible torsion spring with molded silicone rubber. The torsion spring is fixed at the ends to obtain the high rigidity and is molded by a silicone rubber material to achieve the high reliability. The actuator has the resonant frequency of f0=59Hz on the scanning direction and fβ =239Hz on the longitude direction. The maximal stress is 0.168MPa compared to the yield strength of 4.3MPa and the predicted safety factor is 25.6.

Abstract: To assure reliable locking and normal deployment of large space-born appendages, a type of lock-unlock mechanism driven by spring was proposed. The spiral spring was used as a retraction device to draw the clamp-band back due to its characteristics of storing much more energy in limited space. Centralized lock-unlock scheme was employed here to light down mass of the whole mechanism. Reliable retraction of the clamp band and no collision on the surface of satellite are inspection targets of retraction device. Effect on retraction track by varying the torque and mass of clamp band was presented in this paper. To some spaceborne flexible arm, simulation of retraction track was done under specified parameters. The result obtained from simulation reveals that clamp band can accomplish safely and reliably, and will not produce any spatial waste.

Abstract: Stress of the cylindrical helical torsion spring is researched with finite element method when torsional degree changes. For spring has great resilience, large deformation effect is considered in the simulations. Analysis on the stiffness shows that the model built is credible, although torsional stiffness is not constant for large torsional angle, the strength is enough whose variation trend is consistent with the spring stiffness with different working torsional angle.

Abstract: To get a way of calculating the reliability of fatigue life of torsion spring, the paper discussed the optimal design of fatigue reliability for cylindrical helical torsional spring with Monte-Carlo method, and tried to build a new method to analyze the fatigue reliability of cylindrical helical torsional spring. The new method could test different values of parameters of a spring, and it could calculate the fatigue reliability of the spring in every parameter value with about 100 thousand test points with Monte-Carlo method, which can be set to get a better result, and it gave the comparison and selection to designers finally. The method was run with the software-MATLAB. The paper gave an example at last, and it compared the new methods results with ones of traditional design and discussed the differences.
