Abstract: The unified modeling language (UML) was introduced to describe the model of the general framework of the professional image processing system (PIPS). The required functions, basic components and working principle of the general framework were discussed and given in the UML. The traditional mode and the novel mode based on the general framework were compared to develop a representative image processing system. Results demonstrate that the amount of person-months of the human resource of various ability levels can be reduced by at least 50%. Compared with traditional mode, the novel mode can improve efficiency, reduce risk and benefit to teamwork by making researchers only focus on the development of kernel modules rather than the other inefficient and repetitive works. This mechanism is also applicable to other similar systems.

Abstract: Combining with production features of the machining shop in small and medium manufacturing enterprises and difficulties in their information construction, we studied deeply on the scheduling model suitable for complex information environment of the machining shop, and established the job planning and scheduling system model. The hybrid modeling method of UML and IDEF was adopted to describe the architecture of the job planning and scheduling system in machining shop. IDEF, which has good flexibility and logic, is used to describe the system's functions and needs, and then express an implementation scheme that can meet the needs and realize the functions. At the same time, UML is utilized to reflect the chronological relationship of the interaction between functional objects. From the perspectives of structure, function, information and control, both of the above advantages are combined to establish the flexible and reusable model for job planning and scheduling system in machining shop.

Abstract: To improve the timing related performance of the embedded software of automotive control system, a performance modeling language has been developed based on UML (Unified Modeling Language) using meta-modeling technique. The proposed language consists of three kinds of meta-models used to define the high-level modeling paradigms for software structure, target platform and runtime system respectively. The modeling environment configured by the proposed language and software modules of functional model importation, components allocation, task forming and timing analysis can reuse the existing functional models, add timing requirement as well as resource constraints, and fulfill formal timing analysis at an early design stage. As results, the reliability of the automotive embedded control software can be improved and the development cycle and cost can also be reduced.

Abstract: Software Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) technology is the most common technique in reliability and safety analysis. The common software FMEA methods are summarized and for object-oriented software, combined with the Rhapsodys characteristic of modeling and simulation, we proposed the SFMEA method based on modeling and simulation by Rhapsody and gave the process of implementation, the acquisition methods of failure modes and the SFMEA example.

Abstract: According to analysis of relationship among fire distribution, area division and path planning, the thought of trinity tactical decision of surface ships formation missile path planning (SFMPP) is put forward. Expandable open simulation architecture is designed and established based on high level architecture HLA. In order to describe simulation requirement, the static structure model and dynamic behavior model were designed based on UML. Based on HLA/RTI specification, federation’s FOM/SOM is designed and developed. The implementation process of simulation system is expatiates, including simulation strategy, time management, modeling and the federates’ implementation process. The realization of SFMPP simulation system provides a reference trial platform for tactical application argumentation and armament development.

Abstract: In order to improve the efficiency of designing monitor system software and modeling with UML, the UML application of software system modeling was researched in theory and practice. The whole process is divided into four steps, which are the global analysis, the local analysis, the global design, and the local design, and the GUI of the system is described at last. A distributed highway monitoring system is analyzed and designed by UML.

Abstract: This paper presents a software service ecosystem modeling framework. The framework includes resource model, actor model and standard model. The meta model of each model is described and a UML-based software service ecosystem modeling language is proposed. A case study is presented to show the practicality of the proposed framework. Finally we conclude by highlighting the research areas that in our opinion are worth for future investigation.

Abstract: This paper developed real-time virtual prototype analysis system of electric tools that consists of pre-processing module, solver module and post processing module. Adopting the OCC (OpenCASCADE) geometry engine, the functions such as parameterized modeling, virtual assembly and visible post process of the geared rotor system of electric tools were realized, simulation results of the virtual prototype analysis of the non-linear vibration is shown effectively.

Abstract: This paper summarizes the literature and presents important concepts related to conceptual model verification. Different approaches have been proposed in the literature. These approaches have been introduced as two parts with emphasis on formal techniques. First order logic for structural views and Petri nets for behavioral views are investigated in the search of a practical verification method for conceptual modeling in UML. Then a short assessment of formal verification work for UML will be presented.

Abstract: This text has introduced a kind of design process on the basis of teaching administrative system facing target's modeling. During the design, we have used unified modeling language UML and modeling tool Rational Rose2002 Enterprise Edition analysis to conduct overall analysis and design. Meanwhile, we used Rose Delphi Link to produce the frame code of Delphies at the same time, so as to greatly improve the expansibility of the administrative system and the reusability of module .
