Abstract: The paper deals with the macroscopic type modelling of the unidirectional pedestrian flow moving through a corridor with a bottleneck. The macroscopic model of pedestrian flow is the two-dimensional Lighthill-Whitham-Richards model described as a mass conservation equation. The characteristic feature of pedestrian route choice is that pedestrians in the corridor try to minimize the instantaneous travel time and improve the comfort level. The model equation is solved numerically by the discontinuous Galerkin method. Numerical results visualize the ability of the model to predict macroscopic characteristics of pedestrian flow through bottlenecks, i.e. the spatial distribution of the flow speed and density, as well as the formation and dissipation of traffic congestion in the corridor. They also validate that congestion is caused by the limited capacity of the bottleneck.

Abstract: Urban transport database (UTD) is one of the most important bases for academic research and management in transport sector. In this paper, comparison analysis between international and domestic urban transport database was implemented. Based on the Chinese practices, the objectives, framework and key technologies of the Urban Transport Database were presented. The upload and download mechanism of the urban transport data was presented as well. It will provide an efficient technical support for UTD construction in China.

Abstract: To know passenger’s real needs of taxi service quality, operator and regulator are seeking a proper method that can represent passengers’ opinions accurately. In this paper, a weighted SERVPERF model was expressed to assess taxi service quality of Hangzhou, China. All 22 items were divided into five dimensions including tangibles, assurance, reliability, responsiveness, and empathy. Importance and performance of five dimensions were calculated. Authors found that assurance had the highest point and responsiveness had the lowest point in performance appraisal, reliability had the highest point and empathy had the lowest point in importance appraisal. Passenger’s characteristics are unrelated with service quality appraisal indicate that there are not personalized needs for taxi service.

Abstract: In bus networks there are many stations used for boarding and alighting passengers along the bus route. In designing bus stop location three sides approach to be considered; the big picture, street side and curb side. Apiece of three sides have directly affects in the bus scheduling. The effectiveness of bus operation will depend on number of bus stops and its spacing. Basically, bus stations have two kinds: bus stop, use to service passengers in one bus line and bus interchange (terminal) use to share station between some bus lines. This article described a survey on bus stop location efficiency in bus operation where study on bus stop location in three points: near-side, far-side and mid-block were considered. It has been highlighted bus stop location in situation mid-block has higher efficiency than others situations.

Abstract: In order to clear rail lines of the construction of the timing, the need for each line analysis and evaluation of scientific and rational manner, thus forming a good construction planning program. Analysis of the impact of rail transit construction timing factors, and presented its quantitative methods; further established based on the weighted gray correlation of urban rail transit construction methods and sequence the steps to solve the model. Finally, an example of Xi'an rail transit network in the timing of the construction. The results show that the proposed method using the results of the same order with the actual construction, the method is simple and has good application prospects.

Abstract: The normal operation of bus system affects the entire urban operation efficiency and future development. With China's urban economic development and globalization, and the expansion of urban radiation, vigorously developing intelligent traffic has become the primary mean to solve urban transportation problem. Therefore, electric bus stop boards were designed to improve the system efficiency. Here, the current bus station time prediction methods were summarized and compared and the corresponding calculation approaches were established according to the specific characteristics of bus station. We employed Visual C + + 6.0 software and the principle of MapX controls to develop electric bus stop board system interface. Finally, the design method and its function were evaluated.

Abstract: To study interactive relations between urban arterial transit route and land-use under TOD mode, the features of urban arterial transit route and its surrounding land-use were analyzed. An interactive relation model between urban arterial transit route and land-use was established with nonlinear differential equations. Dynamic evolvement and trends of urban arterial transit route and land-use were analyzed, and stability and conditions on equilibrium states were shown by differential equation stability theory. A simulation was done to show that the development of arterial transit route in urban had a trend to surpass traffic capacity of equilibrium state.
