Abstract: The application of the alkaline pectinase and sodium percarbonate in the degumming of ramie was studied in this paper. According to the tests such as the fiber fineness, the single fiber tenacity and the fiber surface properties, alkaline pectinase and sodium percarbonate on the properties of degummed ramie fiber was discussed. The results showed that the effect of the degumming of ramie was associated with temperature, concentration of alkaline pectinase, time and pH value. When the temperature is 60°C, the time is 3 hours, the concentration of alkaline pectinase is 3g/L and pH 8.5, the tenacity of fiber is the highest, the fineness is the finest. Due to the application of sodium percarbonate in the inactivation process, the properties of degummed ramie fiber have been further improved and the gum of the fiber surface has been further reduced.

Abstract: The application of urea peroxide in ramie oxidation degumming was discussed in this paper. And urea peroxide impact on the effect of ramie degumming was analyzed. The experimental results show that four parameters such as time, temperature, the amount of urea peroxide and the dosage of sodium hydroxide have influence on the fiber strength. At the same time, fiber strength with the increase of the amount of urea peroxide is reduced. The fiber strength and the dosage of urea peroxide basically appear linear characteristics. With the increase of time and the amount of sodium hydroxide, the single fiber strength of ramie increases firstly and then decreases. When the temperature is 95°C and the time is 3 hours, the fiber strength is the highest.

Abstract: To achieve bio-scouring or biological degumming of the flax roving, an alkalophilic strain was screened from the rotten wrack around Zhoushan archipelago sea area. Determination of enzyme activity showed that the activities of petinase and xylanase were obtained, and enzyme activities are stable under 50°C and at pH values in the range of 6.5 to 9.0. It was utilized to scour the flax roving under alkaline conditions, and the result showed that the strain had a good characteristic of scouring, and less strength loss of flax fiber was 14.19%. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that the gum in the flax fiber was mostly degraded, and the most smooth fiber surface was displayed, compared with fiber untreated and scoured by caustic soda.
