Abstract: SPC method is a process controlling tool with the aid of mathematical method. Define, Measure, Analysis, Improvement and Control is the implementation processes of quality management. Combined with the two methods, the quality fluctuation in the production process could be controlled effectively and qualified products rate could be enhanced excellently. In this paper, the film thickness problem of motor shell coating production line has been studied based on statistical process control and DMAIC processes. The Pareto diagram, cause and effect diagram, operation chart are used to inspect production defects in the process. At same time, the factors leading to product defects are determined. Then, DOE method is applied to find the best parameters of electrophoresis coating process. SPC method is adopted to monitor the improved film thickness. The results show that quality level of coating process has improved greatly.

Abstract: A control system is developed based on PC, which could collect real-time data and monitor the equipments state for assembly line. The software platform is C#. The technology of sensors, PLC, computer are integrated, and OPC technology is used based on the idea of configuration software to achieve an automatic monitoring system. The data of PLC can be exchanged through the database system integrated in PC. The complex calculation, friendly man-machine interface are achieved in the system. Through monitoring the equipment and environment on the shop floor on-line, the causes of the problems in automatic assembly line can be accurately analyzed in time to make a quick deal. The result shows that the PC-based monitoring system is easy to control, convenient to operate and low-cost to develop and run.

Abstract: The quality improving of locomotive maintenance service is studied based on Six Sigma. The maintenance service progress has been optimized by DMAIC mode. First of all, the quality problems have been proposed. Then, the factors which impact on quality of after-sales service are found by QC tools. Secondly, the main problems in the progress would be controlled conveniently. Finally, the improved maintenance services process is developed correspondingly. In order to ensure the quality of the maintenance in the delivery period, some measures are taken such as adjusting the allocation time in the repair process, developing a strict examination system. The result shows that the maintenance efficiency and customer satisfaction has been improved significantly.

Abstract: The material tracking management system in the magnetic pump assembly process is studied to the machine shop and assembly shop of a pump company as an example. The system mainly includes production line management module, assembly process management module, material tracking management module and work in process (WIP) tracking management module. In this system, the workshop visual management, real-time status information collecting on-site, materials status monitoring, and product life cycle file establishing are implemented. The functions of product assembly processes tracking can be realized, so that the traceability of the parts, components, WIP and products in the process can be achieved. The system ensures the material supply timely and equipment operation normally in the production processes.

Abstract: This paper addresses on quality improvement of expanded food. The five stages of six sigma implementation process are applied to define the problem and set a target for improvement. Then possible causes to the quality problems in expanded food are investigated, and the capabilities of the measuring system are evaluated and improved. Based on the results, the experiment scheme is conducted to find and optimize the key factors. Improvement result shows that sigma level of production process increased to 4.6, which is beyond the expectation and can save the cost.
