Abstract: The human spinal column is a highly complex and sophisticated system both from an engineering and neurological point of view, and provides a source of biomimetic inspiration for analysis of its function in trauma scenarios. A three-dimensional multi-body model of the 50th percentile male human and discretized neck were built for the study on cervical spine injuries in vehicle frontal impact. The discretized neck includes of cervical spine vertebrae, intervertebral discs, ligaments, and muscles. Following motor front crash evaluations, a finite element vehicle model was propelled straight ahead into a concrete barrier at a speed of 50 km/h. The longitudinal velocity of driver seat was decreased due to the absorbing energy function of the crumple zones. A Hybrid III adult male dummy was seated on a sled, restrained using safety belt, and longitudinal velocity measured from frontal impact was applied to simulate cervical spine injuries. The disk bending loads, interspinous ligament loads and disk shear strain of the cervical spine were analyzed in this paper.

Abstract: This paper presents recent developments in the study of optimization methods for industrial product design, and provides a method of dynamic optimization design to calculate the optimal loading property of automobile twist bar spring system. This is a different approach to traditional systems that is based on dynamic and random load, applying the basic theory and methods of dynamic design, according to the multi-goal characteristic of automobile twist bar spring. This paper presents a thorough analysis dynamic quadratic fuzzy optimal method of double-goal and the method to determine paper optimal gene. This method is used to automobile twist bar spring design, the result shows that the ability of spring loading is improved; the weight of structure is reduced. The new approach makes the vibration absorbing system more reliable and comfortable. The results presented in this paper are not only applicable to automobile twist bar spring systems but all systems that possess dynamic, random and fuzzy characteristics. This work finds applications in automobile components design and dynamic character analysis.

Abstract: Crooked shaft grinder is the key machining equipment of engine Crooked shaft, as the principal axis system of grinder head failure occasionally, it influences the cutting precision greatly. So it has significance to research on failure diagnosis method for engine crooked shaft grinding equipment. The method, which diagnoses the causes and degree of failure, based on fuzzy logic and recognition theory is presented for the principal axis system of crooked shaft grinder. The mathematics model of fuzzy recognition and the conditional distribution function of fuzzy relationship between failure and symptom are given and the method of determining the function is simple and practicable. The method that is got through fuzzy reasoning and fuzzy recognition can be used not only to diagnose failure cause but also to determine failure level. The vibratory diagnosis for the principal axis system of crooked shaft grinder shows that it possessed a good rationality as well as availability.

Abstract: An integrated vehicle collision-avoiding radar and intelligent cruise control system is proposed. Collision-avoiding radar measures the distance of a vehicle-to-vehicle and roadblocks automatically, and then Cruise Control System design optimal acceleration for the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control. An integrated radar and intelligent cruise control law has been proposed. Using this control law, the brake controller forces the vehicle acceleration to converge to the desired acceleration. It has been shown via the simulations with good distance control performance in both high speed and low speed stop and good driving situations. Vehicle Collision-avoiding Radar System and Intelligent Cruise Control System have very important significance on improving vehicle active safety and reducing driver’s fatigue. Collision-avoiding Radar System and Intelligent Cruise Control System will be the necessary equipment in future vehicle.
