Abstract: Metamict minerals contain radioactive elements that degrade their crystal structure. During the annealing process under ambient pressure in argon atmosphere the sample of metamict rinkite recrystallizes to the primary crystalline form at 700°C. Further heating leads to the formation of a new crystalline phase.

Abstract: N,N’ – bis – (2– hydroxy – ethylene) – terephthalamide (BHETA) has been obtained by aminolysis of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) using excess of monoethanoloamine and it has been physicochemically characterized [1]. In this paper there are shown the results of the multi-temperature X-ray measurement which were performed to provide information about the stability of the structure. Detailed temperature analysis of the crystal structure allows us to determine properties of the compound which is very important product of recycling PET wastes in order to use it for further chemical reactions. The structure of the title compound was also modelled by density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

Abstract: Metamict minerals contain radioactive elements that degrade their crystal structure. Unlike other metamict minerals, annealing process under ambient pressure do not lead to direct recrystallization of steenstrupine.

Abstract: We have tested a new method which allows assigning the spin state of the spin crossover (SCO) crystal in-situ during the diffraction experiment. The method is based on the analysis of change of the colour of the SCO compounds. We have found that the off-line setup in transmission geometry is reliable in assigning the magnitude of high spin molecules fraction (γHS) and the character (one step, many steps, histeresis) of the SCO transition. Later on, this method has been used in the in-situ measurements directly on X-ray four-circle diffractometer.
