Abstract: The working principle of a new kind of double-acting pneumatic-hydraulic pressure amplifier having two-step output pressure driven by the pneumatic cylinder with rodless piston is introduced. The output flux and the output pressure calculating formulae are also given out. Compared with the known single-acting pressure amplifier,the innovative pressure-amplifier is simple in structure and has much higher working efficiency. It can also output adaptive two-step liquid pressure, which is similar with the hydraulic differential connection, thus it is easy to realize move quickly in low pressure and move slowly at high pressure. This system also fits a trend of green manufacturing for using green air as transmission medium and with closed oil without leak to output pressure liquid.

Abstract: Observation of the present force amplification mechanism suggests geometrically simple bars have length effect and angle effect, both contributing to the amplification of force. Those bars are prevalent in animal bone structures. A set of design methodology and principles of reconfigurable force amplification mechanism is presented based on bionics. Following a few basic rules, engineers could use bars to construct innovative structures with various functions to meet practical requirements. Some example cases are displayed along with related equations. The effects of lever and toggle mechanism in series are compared to that of ordinary systems. The former displays remarkable advantages.

Abstract: The creative thinking of the pressure -continuously-regulating device based on a NC rotary valve is introduced. Its inner structure, operating principle and technical feature are given out. The equation that gas flow and pressure changed with the rotation angle of the valve core is provided too. Stepper motor is used as its actuating device in this creative pressure -continuously-regulating device whose basic component is the specially designed, such as valve body, valve core and some common connections. Orifice area is changed by rotating the valve core controlled with a PC-controlled stepper motor which, and then an accurate adjustment of flow rate is thus ensured. As the change of the rotation angle is continuous, the flow rate also changes continuously, so the change of the pressure must be continuous.

Abstract: The clean compressed air is taken as power transmission medium in pneumatic clamping devices, and when cutting after clamping the workpiece, the energy are not consumed any more. So it can be said that it is a green clamping technology. However, a low pressure of pneumatic driving makes a lot of pneumatic fixtures too bulky in size.A new innovation design idea of clamping mechanism based on pneumatic muscle and the eternallever-toggle force amplifier is described in this paper, in which the pneumatic muscle is instead of traditional rigid cylinder. The pneumatic muscle has some features such as extremely simple structure, good flexibility, the big ratio of output force and diameter/weight, etc. Thus, this device can get much greater clamping force on the condition of reducing the size and weight of the structure definitely. In addition, using two pneumatic muscles alternately, it can enable the time of processing a workpiece to overlap with the time of unloading another workpiece, and which can improve the production efficiency significantly.

Abstract: Compared with hydraulic press, pneumatic press has many prominent advantages such as low energy consumption, no pollution to environment, fast speed and high efficiency etc. However, its critical disadvantage is that its pressure is much slower than that of the hydraulic system, which results in lower output force. An innovative pneumatic press driven by a new composite pneumatic-mechanical transmission mechanism is presented in this paper. With the aid of the force amplifier of two-step serial toggle-lever, the output force of the piston is amplified twice and the amplification factor can up to 20. Besides, two innovation design plans were discussed, namely, the single-cylinder-single-piston press and the single-cylinder-double-piston press. Moreover, the single-cylinder-double-piston press is remarkable in harmonious symmetry and technical performances.

Abstract: Here introduces a kind of clamping device which is driven by linear motor and makes use of lever-wedge serial mechanism to amplify input force and to realize self-locking. We analyze its working principle and structure feature, give the calculation formulas of force amplification coefficient and output force. Compared with hydraulic clamping device or pneumatic clamping device, this kind of clamping device has the advantages: few conversion segments, no energy consumed during machining and no environment pollution.

Abstract: Shape Memory Alloys (SMA) is mainly used in Microsystems because of its micro strain. A new kind of clamping device based on area effect stroke amplifier and driven by SMA wires is introduced in this paper. With the micro strain enlarged by stroke amplifier and pressure transmitted via closed pipeline, a greater displacement can be obtained to clamp the workpiece. This clamping device has prominent advantages in great stroke amplifying ratio and green aspect. Moreover, remote clamping and automatic control are easy to implement because of the high flexibility of fluid.

Abstract: The green fixture is the research focus, but the current research is centralized on the fixture driven by the air. It will lead to a noise polution and a small clamping force. Using the green electromagnetic conversion technology, a new clamping system to clamp the workpiece is provided, which is composed of the giant magnetostrictive material as working medium and the displacement amplifier with the area effect. This device can realize the flexible configuration of clamping at multi-place, for multi-workpiece and in multi-direction. Furthermore, this clamping system using the A/D converter and the sensor technology of pressure and displacement to collect the relative data, the collected data can to be putted in the computer and be processed,so it is easy to control the clamp force and clamping displacement intelligently.

Abstract: As a new kind of flexible pneumatic actuator using clean compressed air as working medium, pneumatic muscle has many particular characteristics comparing with pneumatic cylinder. It can well accord with the development of green transmission technique. Combing pneumatic muscle with mechanical force amplifier is a practical and creative design method. According to this method, two kinds of green pneumatic clamping devices based on two-step orthogonal toggle force amplifier driven by pneumatic muscle are introduced. Their working principles and characteristic features are analyzed and corresponding mechanics calculating formulae are also given respectively.

Abstract: In many occasions of the practical engineering, the reciprocating rectilinear movement at high frequency is appeared commonly, which is usually completed by the slider-crank mechanism. But there has big friction force between the guide rail and the block, thus the big friction loss can be caused. So when working in a long time, the mechanism will be heated and distorted. And a big torque will be caused in the guide rail, the oscillation will be generated when move at high frequency. In order to overcome these defections, the reciprocating rectilinear moving mechanism at high frequency with low load driven by two symmetrical eccentric cams is innovated. And to realize the different travel in economical way, the rapid reconfigurable devices based on this mechanisum are innovated too. These innovated mechanism is quite symmetrical, so the friction force between the guide rail and the leader can be almost ignored and the oscillation is very small too. Then, the mechanical and movement property are analyzed and compared with the slider-crank mechanism, which proves that these mechanism have simple structure and good property. Through the analysis of the travel, the merit of strong adaptability is found out. Furthermore, the components in these devices can be reused in different occasions, so the reconfigurable thinking provides one economical method for big production rapidly.
