Abstract: Biotic ligand model (BLM) is a tool with the consideration of aquatic organism would have interaction with metals in different forms. Water chemical characteristics would also have some influence with bioavailability. In this study, BLM’s theoretical basis and realization process were discussed in detail, followed by the application status of the model. Finally, current challenges and future direction of BLM were pointed out. BLM assumes that the biological effect happens during the chemical equilibrium, which means that the model might only explain the acute toxicity results.

Abstract: According to the frequency distribution approach of Nutrition Criteria Technical Guidance Manual of U.S. EPA, we calculated eco-criteria of Tai Lake and Liao River in China by observing data. The results show that: ① Phytoplankton H is 2.81, phytoplankton D is 2.03, zooplankton H is 3.16 and zooplankton D is 7.70 in Tai Lake. ② Phytoplankton H is 3.04, phytoplankton D is 2.66, the zooplankton H is 3.46 and zooplankton D is 5.15 in Liao River. The results show that the eco-criteria by frequency distribution approach is feasible and correct.

Abstract: The monocarboxyphenyl cobalt porphyrin (CoMCPP) was synthesized and incorporated into carbon carrier acetylene black (ACET) for proton exchange membrane fuel cell cathode oxygen reduction. The influence of different thermal treatment temperature on the catalytic performance of the composite catalysts was discussed. The synthetic compound catalyst was analyzed by XRD、IR. The electrochemical catalytic performance of catalyst, which was heat-treated under different temperature, for oxygen reduction was tested by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). The result shows that the best thermal treatment temperature is 6000C, and its catalytic activity also shows the best, the catalytic activity site changes from CoN4 to C-N-Co.

Abstract: In this paper, the circulation rolling plastic deformation(CRPD) surface nanocrystallization technology is proposed based on the idea that the severe plastic deformation can induce grain refinement. The equipment of CRPD is designed and manufactured. A nanocrystallization surface layer was successfully obtained in a column sample of low carbon steel. The average grain size in the top surface layer is about 18 nm, and gradually increases with the distance from the surface. The hardness increases gradually from about 200HV0.1 in the matrix to about 600HV0.1 in the surface layer.
