Abstract: The texture evolution in the surface and center layer of hot rolled electrical steel containing initial columnar grains with their <100> nearly along ND, RD and TD of sheets were determined by EBSD technique. The transition from Goss to Brass or Copper orientation in surface was analyzed. The difference in texture of center layers in these samples was compared. In particular, orientation evolutions within grains and at grain boundaries of different types of orientations were explored. The results are discussed in terms of the special alignments of grain boundaries among columnar grains.

Abstract: High-energy synchrotron diffraction offers great potential for experimental study of
recrystallization kinetics. A fine experimental design to study the recrystallization mechanism of
Interstitial Free (IF) steel was implemented in this work. In-situ annealing process of cold-rolled IF
steel with 80% reduction was observed using high-energy X-ray diffraction. Results show that, the
diffraction intensity of {001}<110> and {112}<110> belong to α-fiber texture component decreased
with the annealing temperature increased while {111}<110> did nearly not change and {111}<112>
increased; the FMTH decreasing and d-space changing with annealing temperature increasing
indicated that the residual stress relaxed completely during recovery.

Abstract: in this paper, the texture evolution of cold rolling and recrystallization of dual phase steel
sheets is studied. The experimental results show that the cold rolling texture components are γ fiber
(<111>//N.D.) and α fiber (<110>//R.D.). After heat treatment (austenizing temperatures 960°C and
980°C, 0.7°C/S cooling to 650°C, a rational holding time to form ferrite and martensite
microstructure), the texture components are still γ fiber and α fiber, the recrystallization texture in
dual phase steel sheet is remarkable different compared to the recrystallization texture in the pure
(single phase) ferrite.

Abstract: The microstructure characters of pure Iron during cold rolling were studied by HEXD
(high-energy x-ray diffraction). The experimental result shows that the Debby ring of HEXD before
cold rolling is discrete and very strong, the discrete diffraction points become continue and smooth
with the increase of cold rolling reduction. The {001}<110> textures transform to the {001}
texture after cold rolling, in this process the grains divisional are analyzed by the HEXD result.

Abstract: The orientation evolution in Copper single crystal during ECAE (in Route C) has been investigated experimentally for 90° die angle by X-ray diffraction and TEM-OIM. It is shown that after the previous three passes of ECAE, orientation evolutes with similar mechanism to the simple shear deformation. The grain subdivision occurs with the appearance of many low angle grain boundaries. After four times extrusions the ED of the samples remains stable, their ND rotates around the ED by about 20°. After five times extrusions the main texture component remains stable.

Abstract: The microstructure of Ti+P IF steel were studied after warm rolling, cold rolling and
recrystallization using X-Ray, TEM and SEM. The results show that the characteristics of warm rolled sheet are the same as that of the cold rolled, but the texture displays different characteristics in the subsequent cold rolling and recrystallization because of the numerous second-phase particles. In this work, a Ti+P IF steel sheet with high strength and plastic strain ratio was obtained.

Abstract: An experimental setup was designed to study the recrystallization kinetics of Interstitial Free (IF) steel in this work. The 80% cold rolled IF steel foils are heated rapidly to 680°C, 730°C and 780°C by a salt bath. The recrystallization kinetic curves were obtained by the quantitative analysis of texture components, microstructures and EBSP (electron back-scattering patterns) measurements.
With the help of EBSD, the orientations of the recrystallization nuclei are determined. The growth rule of the recrystallization nuclei was analyzed statistically. The effect of nucleus orientation on the formation of the recrystallization texture was investigated.
