Abstract: In order to improve formability of Titanium alloy, the three-roll mill is used instead of two-roll during continuous rolling titanium alloy rod. Considering that the filling coefficient of titanium alloy rod is different from that of ordinary steels, a new pass design method has been illustrated in this paper. Based on the orthogonal experiment and finite element method, the spread formulae for round rod and triangle rod have been developed, and the program composition of pass for rolling TC4 rod has also been is used in experiment. The results showed that the proposed method is reasonable and could produce the qualified products.

Abstract: Under the given lubricating oil, rolling speed and rolling pressure, the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench and CFX were used to analyze the lubricating oil film and bearing by two-way fluid-to-solid coupling method, and the deformation and force of oil film and bushing with different relative clearances were calculated, as well as those with consideration of oil film temperature. Moreover, the fatigue limit theory was used to obtain the best relative clearance, which can provide theoretical data to the bearing structure optimization.

Abstract: The control system of the third hydraulic reversible 11 rolls leveler adopts advanced techniques such as automatic setting, automatic tracking and straightening, Leveling intelligent model and knowledge base. Leveling Intelligent Model and knowledge base is the core of the whole control system, which including Leveling Intelligent Model and plate knowledge base. The system has successful application in new strength leveler developed by Taiyuan University of Science and Technology and the Taiyuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd, which is of high automatic and efficiency. The productions qualities are impressively improved. This plate leveler uses Oracle 10G database system and HP 380 Server clusters to realize the management function of technical data acquisition and analysis. It is able to complete the real-time data acquisition, data analysis, model calculation and self –learning function.

Abstract: Strength and stiffness of the bottom cassette of plate roller leveler will have a direct impact on the leveling capability and the quality of product .To solve the problems that the plate leveler in some plant mills is unable to meet the design capacity and the roll set deforms severely, the model of the bottom cassette modeled by Pro/E is imported into ANSYS code to be analyzed in this paper. The calculations locate the causes of the problems and propose an improved scheme. The method can help others complex equipments design.

Abstract: The accuracy of the max shear force of rolling shear is of vital importance to the proper selection of motor power and the optimization design of structure strength. The test on shear force during the shearing process of stainless steel was done on 3000 mm cut-to-length rolling shear of some Large-scale Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. The test results have shown that the weight of upper-blade carrier can bring about the fluctuation of measuring signals of shearing force at the start and end instants. Meanwhile, the shear force during the shearing process will gradually increase with the increment relative cut-in depth, and the process from the bite-in of upper blade into steel plate to the fracture of steel plate is very short, thus the link force on the side of firstly-fallen-off blade will initially increase and then will decrease by large increment amplitude. The shear force at the cut-in stage will dramatically increase. During the cut-in stage, the shear force is basically a constant due to the constant shear angle. In summary, the above test results have important referential value to the calculation of shear force and the design of structure strength.

Abstract: The higher the output of high-strength plate is, the higher the demand flatness of users will be, but there are some questions in designing high-strength plate leveler now: the first is no enough conditions in traditional parameters calculation formula, the second is neglection of elastic recovery in elastic-plastic bend deformation in plate leveling process. This research, which aims to level plate with yield strength 1200MPa, will amend traditional analytic formula and calculate leveler roller pitch and roller diameter, and can help design the high strength plate leveler.

Abstract: The evolvement of plate in 15-roller combination leveler has been studied in this paper using both geometrical analysis and FEM. The results show that the bending deformation and curvature evolvement are different from those obtained by general leveler. The technologies of parallel leveling and tension leveling are adaptive to the roll system of combination leveler, which not only can improve leveling precision, but also can erase the influence of negative torque on leveling roll, thus improving the leveling strength capacity of leveling materials. Meanwhile, a new calculating method of leveling process was pointed out, whose results were basically consistent to those of experimental results.

Abstract: The reasons for impact pressure are obtained by the research the hydraulic system of Hydraulic Rolling-Cut Shear. The impact pressure of hydraulic system is divided into direct impact and indirect impact. Based on analyzing the actual situation the measures should be taken to reduce the impact pressure when design hydraulic system. The suitable length of pipeline can improve the performance of the hydraulic system because the length is important for the impact pressure. The accumulator can absorb impact pressure and improve the work situation of servo valve. Therefore, the suitable accumulators should be set in the hydraulic system. The study provides theory basis for the pipe design of large hydraulic servo system.

Abstract: In order to study the impact of fulcrum distance on the straightening the minimum fulcrum distance was determined based on the plastic theory according to straightening pressure force in the process of straightening process where there was no indentation. The optimal distance between the fulcrums straightening has been studied by using of bending curvature changes in the bending deflection formula and support the relationship between the dot pitch. Given initial deflection according to bending deflection and bending deflection the amount range of the fulcrum distance can be determined during the pressure straightening. When the rate of bending deflection determined it can obtain the fulcrum distance at the same curvature. The more fulcrums distance the more bending deflection. The minimum fulcrum distance was three times the power growth with the diameter of work piece. The minimum fulcrum distance is inverse proportion to contact area of pressure head. With the pipe wall thickness decreases the minimum distance also reduced.

Abstract: The lubricating system is the critical segment to ensure the good operation of bearing subsystem and the whole mill system. To keep pace with the advanced domestic and outdoors technologies, it is emergent to design and develop the mechatronic test rig of mill oil-film bearing. According to the detailed design parameters and design principles of lubricating system, its main modules and the lubricating mechanism are designed and implemented. The according 2D drawings and 3D solid models are successfully established. Consequently, the prototype is developed, and runs well in practical tests on mechanical parameters of mill bearing. Moreover, some further improvements are also made to better the performances of lubricating system.
